Introducing IFRS 18 – Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements

IFRS 18 replaces IAS 1 and introduces new requirements for the presentation and disclosure of financial information. The standard includes:

-New required totals and subtotals
-Disclosure of management-defined performance measures
-Enhanced guidance on grouping and presenting information

IFRS 18 is effective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027 and is expected to affect organisations across all industries.

RSM UAE Compliance requirements for Free Zone distributors have entered a new phase.

On 2 June 2026, the Federal Tax Authority introduced FTA Decision No. 6 of 2026, adding a critical new compliance layer for Qualifying Free Zone Persons (QFZPs) distributing goods in or from a Designated Zone. To retain your 0% Corporate Tax treatment, an independent Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) report is now mandatory.

The key test: does your customer resell, process, or alter the goods — or are they the end user? Getting this "Know Your Client" distinction wrong could expose your distribution income to the standard 9% Corporate Tax rate.
