Every Woman is Beautiful !
Sharing some photographs from a fun, yet powerful and enriching experience at one of my most recent shoots.
What I love about this client is how she views and feels about herself. In her own way she questions the prejudice around women being looked on as perfect only if they are a tall, slim and/or light skinned etc . A lot of women get stuck around their self image based on their size, weight complexion or age because they don't look like the women on the covers of magazines, or like actresses and models.
Meet Jagjit Kaur ! . She is a designer who also runs her own catering business.
She is gorgeous, warm, friendly, open hearted. She is also plus sized woman who is so unapologetically in love with herself. She loves the way she looks and approached me to shoot some photographs of herself wearing her own designs, rather than finding an "appropriate" model.
When she showed up in front of my camera, what I saw clearly was that she was celebrating what was right in her ! She was in celebration of herself.
Whats most beautiful is when she explained the meaning of the name of her Label - Urjaz. She described it as enlightenment from within. She feels every woman's right to be feel beautiful, and most definitely models it too !
