Many people refer to MARA funding as a “MARA Grant”, but in reality, MARA mostly offers business financing loans rather than full outright grants. This financing must generally be repaid in accordance with the stipulated terms and conditions. That said, several schemes include incentive components or conditional grants; for instance, certain programmes offer extra benefits if repayments are made consistently on time.
What is MARA Financing / the so-called “MARA Grant”?
MARA financing is financial assistance for Bumiputera entrepreneurs to:
- Launch a brand-new business
- Expand an existing enterprise
- Purchase machinery and equipment
- Add working capital
- Renovate business premises
These funds are provided to boost the competitiveness of Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
