Saudi Arabia intercepted further Houthi missile and drone attacks, while strikes against the presidential palace in Aden, Yemen, killed five people and fighting intensified in Marib and Taiz. International concern increased following attacks on Riyadh airport, prompting UN condemnation, French support for Saudi energy infrastructure protection and renewed regional security commitments. The deteriorating environment disrupted aviation and diplomacy, including the postponement of the EU–GCC summit, while sabotage affected Syrian energy infrastructure and tensions persisted in Gaza and Lebanon. Energy markets remained under pressure, with Brent crude reaching USD 105.92 per barrel.

The IRGC warned of renewed US attacks, and Israel reinforced troops across all fronts as operations continued in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. An ISIS explosive device killed two Iraqi officers in Kirkuk. Fighting continued near Taiz, where WFP cannot reach 600,000 people. Brent fell to $104.67 early on 15 October

September saw continued US and Iran hostilities and Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, causing 73 injuries on 8 September and temporarily shutting the East-West Pipeline on 10 September. Israeli operations continued in Gaza and Lebanon, and the US announced its completed withdrawal from Iraq on 30 September. Fighting resumed in northern Ethiopia on 22 September, alongside conflict across Sudan, the Sahel and eastern DRC. Pakistan struck Afghanistan on 24 September. Russia and Ukraine targeted energy infrastructure, with a 22 September attack leaving nearly 100,000 Ukrainian residents without power. Maritime attacks caused fatalities in the Strait of Hormuz and Black Sea, and piracy persisted around the Horn of Africa.

Saudi defences intercepted missiles towards Riyadh and Khamis Mushait without casualties, and Riyadh airport remains closed until 17 October. Houthi authorities cited 10 fatalities in Saudi led strikes in Yemen. Fatal incidents occurred in Lebanon, northern Israel and Rafah, alongside Israeli activity in Quneitra and a drone strike on a KDPI camp in Iraq. Sixty countries backed the “No Fees/No Tolls” pledge, and the EU established a security mission for Lebanon. Brent settled at $106.65 on 12 October.

Maritime incidents affected vessels near Ras Al Khaimah, in the Strait of Hormuz and at Sohar, where two crew remain missing following a UAV strike. US forces also disabled a vessel in the Gulf of Oman. Further fatalities occurred in Gaza and southern Lebanon, and an IED killed a police deputy commander near Zahedan. At least 139 people died when a migrant boat travelling from Djibouti to Yemen capsized. Brent crude fell to $103.35 on 12 October despite continued regional disruption.
