IRD Design IRD believes that design, at its zenith, is a powerful and practical blend of both concept and ex*****on. In this world, ideas are aplenty.

Bringing ideas to life however, takes expertise and a commitment to collaboration as well as seeing things through...on time and on budget. This mindset drives the work and client relationships IRD has proudly built over the past ten years, and it will continue to inspire our design work going forward. We hope, in turn, that our completed projects inspire, and make the world just a little bit more interesting for all.

Can we have the warmth of timber without the environmental weight?

Our founder, Indu Varanasi, explores the balance between the sensory appeal of wood and the practical needs of a growing population. While solid timber is often preferred, the need for sustainability requires us to be more inventive.

Timber alternatives are changing how we design – veneers and laminates for high-end finishes, timber sheeting for that authentic, tactile texture and digital prints that capture the organic beauty of grain now form part of the products featured in our designs.

It’s about creating spaces that feel alive, calming and restorative while being honest about our footprint.

Good architecture performs. Great architecture performs and inspires.

Acrylic does both. It’s come a long way as a replacement for glass, and today drives some of the most expressive designs.

Decades ago, it was simply a shatter-resistant alternative to glass; now it’s a primary driver of expressive architecture.

It’s easy to maintain, fully recyclable and versatile – and that’s why it shows up in so many of our designs.

Glass has been shaping the way humans design and build for thousands of years – from the first ancient handmade beads to today’s high-performance skyscraper facades.

Today, this versatile material offers so much more than transparent window panes. Think textured surfaces, stained panels, glass bricks, sculptural lighting and bold structural elements, all bringing light and interest to buildings.

Glass also plays a growing role in sustainable design, through recycled materials, energy-efficient coatings and smart glazing, and long-lasting products that support greener living.

At IRD Design, we love using glass creatively and innovatively to shape interior architecture and experiential spaces.

Here’s a glimpse of what we do.

At IRD Design, we support every phase of development, creating spaces that are purposeful, cohesive, and built to last.

Our work spans industries and geographies, but the intention is always the same: design that goes beyond aesthetics. Spaces that create experiences. Spaces that bring people together.

Thoughtful design meets practical elegance, and that philosophy guides the work we do, and reminds us exactly why we love what we do.
