FACEBOOK POST
Life Purpose - WHY we need a life purpose statement

Our life purpose answers the question why we are here. We are our purpose. Our purpose is who we are!

Generally, there are 3 levels of our existence:
1. We know what we do… we then become more effective or we may end up very busy.

2. We know how we do it … we then “do” things with more consideration and intention.

3. We know why we are here. Then:
• the what and how of our doing becomes obvious,
• we start serving others on a different level,
• we dedicate our life to a meaningful cause, and learn to say no to the rest,
• suffering sometimes becomes okay,
• we are more motivated, more fulfilled and potentially joyful and enthusiastic.

START HERE:
Are you busy or rather effective?
Do you do things consciously and intentionally?
Do you know why you are here? And does this feel meaningful and fulfilling?

If you were meant to cure cancer or write a symphony or crack cold fusion and you don’t do it, you not only hurt yourself, even destroy yourself. You hurt your children. You hurt me. You hurt the planet. Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid on the part of the actor. It’s a gift to the world and every being in it. Don’t cheat us of your contribution. Give us what you’ve got.”
The War of Art, Steven Pressfield

Habits - Why it is smart to create a habit?

“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Saint Bernard of Clairvaux

Habits help us to move from good intention to getting things done.

Why creating habit?

By nature, we are lazy. When we are stressed, we create an emotional override: It must feel good right now, and it does not have to make sense!

Creating a habit or a routine is the antidote to the emotional override! It creates a new default position in our brains. Once implemented, it will be harder not to do it than to do it.

Our entire body craves for habits. We all know the craving, longing, desire for the bad habits in our life… same effect can be created for good ones!

Keep in mind: Failing to keep a promise to ourselves is hard on our self-esteem. Therefore, a lot of people prefer not to create habits. We cannot fail on things we don’t do!

THE PLAN – DO – BE APPROACH TO GOALS & LIFE

There is a gap between:
• what & how we do, who we are, what we have in the here and now and,
• what we must do, who we must become, what we must acquire to obtain our goal in the future.

This can create stress, especially when we make the moment we are in wrong. And when we fear the pain of going through change necessary for growth.
This process of change and growth can also be perceived as rewarding, fulfilling, meaningful and joyful experience. Trust the Plan-Do-Be process:

1. PLAN
“If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.”
“Spontaneity is deviating from your plan. No plan, and deviating from nothing is called chaos.”

2. DO
Do what needs to be done, no matter what, and no matter what fears come up in you. Say no to what should not be done at all!
Keep in mind: Busyness is the new stupid!

3. BE
Accept – surrender to the moment and what is.
Don’t surrender to the problem and/or obstacle. Push through it!

“enjoy the struggle and dance in the moment!”

START HERE:

PLAN
1. Have a vision, mission and life purpose. Set your yearly goals, set your monthly targets, check in weekly, set 2 goals aligned with your yearly goal every day, plan for a morning routine to jump-start your day.

DO
2. Start every day with mental, physical, spiritual and emotional self-care. Before you go out into the world, review your plan, have your mind set, know your goals, know your boundaries.
3. Just do it!

BE
4. Breath, feel and dance in the moment!
5. Keep doing, what you must do!!!. keep breathing ….. keep doing ...

THE BOLDHEAD APPROACH TO GOAL SETTING

Mastery & Leadership
“You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.” Clive Staples Lewis

Self-Mastery:
SOUL (energy) – MIND (rational) – HEART (emotional) – BODY (intuitive)
When we have our EGO in check, our higher self can be in control of the whole system guiding us gently towards our dreams. The key to our self-mastery is growing and nurturing soul, mind, heart and body - perfectly balancing the system.

“Leadership = passion, people and principles.” Robin Sharma

Leadership Excellence:
Creating our individual authentic leadership model based on our values, principles and talents to develop our strengths to inspire, influence and making a positive difference in and to the world.

Set self-mastery goals
“Most powerful is he who has himself in power.” Lucius Annaeus Seneca
How do you nurture, develop and grow in the most healthy and balanced way:
- your heart?
- your brain?
- your body?
- your soul?
Don’t aim for perfection; aim for the perfect balance!

Set leadership goals
“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” John F. Kennedy

(1) Making a positive difference
What positive impact do you (want to) create in the world?
(2) Strengths & weaknesses
How do you nurture, develop and grow your strengths and how do you manage your weaknesses?
(3) Authentic leadership
Looking at your authentic leadership style, what are the 2 most significant traits you need to work on?
(4) Life Balance
Looking at the wheel of life, what are the top 2 areas you need to take care of? And how?

Life purpose, vision & mission alignment
Make sure your goals and habits area aligned with your vision, mission and life purpose!

Follow the 5-Step approach!

Goal setting – 6 STEP-APPROACH TO GOAL SETTING

We don’t have to be happy all the time.
Walking towards a meaningful goal knowing that our struggle is worth the pain and effort will give us a deep feeling of …
… willingness, joy and even enthusiasm!

I. List all your potential goals

II. Importance - check: The 7 x why approach
Take each goal and ask ourselves 7 times “why is this important?”
This will lead to more clarity and the driver behind the goal. Some goals will become meaningless while other more important ones may evolve and surface.
In this exercise, EMOTIONS ARE HELPFUL! Just don’t allow paralyzing emotions like fear, discourage, „I am not enough“ stand in the way to determine your true juicy, sexy and exciting goals.

III. Narrow it down!
Narrow it down with an analytical person if you can.
Which goals are
a) compelling? AND…
b) meaningful? AND…
c) sexy? AND…
d) important?
Highlight, strike through, bring them in order of priority, and get your final shortlist!

IV. 4. Find obstacles, problems, challenges.
Achieving our goals means to get to the root cause. Do this exercise with an analytical thinker.
Here, EMOTIONS ARE NOT HELPFUL. Be brutally honest with yourself, be analytical, focus on figures, data, facts!
1. What is in the way? List down all your obstacles!
2. Why is it in the way? List down the root-causes!

V. 5. Create your strategy!

If you want to win a million in the lottery (goal), play the lottery (start your journey).
Buy an annual subscription! (automate your behaviour by creating a habit)

VI. 6. Carry out a final SMARRT check

Write everything down and post it on your mirror!
