Living and working in Dubai means operating every day within one of the most dynamic, competitive, and future-oriented ecosystems in the world.

It was a great honor to speak with H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed
Al Jaber at the Make it in the Emirates event. I had the opportunity to share an important reflection and, at the same time, express my appreciation for the significance of his role, vision, and leadership.
Under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, he is one of the most influential figures in the UAE in the fields of energy, industry, and sustainable transition.

Dr. Al Jaber stated that the UAE’s industrial strategy is driving structural economic change, with the sector’s contribution to GDP reaching AED 200 billion (USD 54.4 billion), a 70% increase since its establishment in 2021.
Industrial exports have also reached AED 262 billion, including AED 92 billion in advanced exports.
“These figures are not just growth,” Dr. Al Jaber stated.
“They are proof that our industrial economic model works, delivers, and continues to accelerate.”

To overcome human limits we need the highest form of intelligence: the intelligence of adaptation.
An intelligence that knows our organism well, as well as that of all living organisms.
Extreme challenges can strengthen us: they can teach us to bring out the best in ourselves, to discover our hidden resources and to become stronger, overcoming mental and physical limits. Not only in a sporting performance, but also at work and in life.
Thus, the challenge can become an opportunity.
From the extreme heat of the desert to the ice of the mountains, from space to the depths of the oceans, the greatest intelligence is the one that arises from the capacity for adaptation. And it is precisely from adaptation that new opportunities are born.
Challenges are won if we remain united, as with my team under the ice, freediving, until the end. A matter of survival, even in the moments when hypothermia no longer allowed us to think clearly, and aggression, pain and suffering increased.
The responsibility of each person was to try to give their best, for themselves and by paying attention to the other members of the team.
Alone we would not have made it. Together we did.
An extraordinary challenge, not only sporting, not only scientific research, but also human, to better understand our behaviour under stress.
