Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid approved the Dubai Metro Gold Line and directed the immediate commencement of the project, with inauguration targeted for 9 September 2032.
According to Dubai Media Office, this will be Dubai’s largest transport project, with a total investment of AED 34 billion
🔸The Gold Line is a 42 km fully underground metro line, running at a depth of up to 40 metres, with 18 stations across 15 strategic locations in Dubai.
It is designed to serve 1.5 million people and support mobility for 55 major development projects currently under construction.
The official route starts at Al Ghubaiba and runs through key districts and developments including Mina Rashid, City Walk, Business Bay, Mohammed Bin Rashid City, Nad Al Sheba, Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens, Meydan, Al Barsha South, JVC, and ends at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
The Gold Line links:
✔ old Dubai
✔ emerging urban districts
✔ major real estate growth zones
✔ and the future national passenger rail system
That means this project is doing 4 jobs at once:
🔹mobility
🔹congestion relief
🔹urban integration
🔹economic value creation
