According to neuroscience approximately 95% of our thinking and behaviour happens unconsciously, meaning we are 'programmed' in a certain way and most of the time "run on auto-pilot' based on the experiences we made over time, the environment we lived in and the people and relationships we interacted with. ​​​​​​​​

Should you ever face a person (incl. yourself), that challenges you based on a certain level of incongruency, meaning their WORDS are not in line with their ACTIONS....then remember to rather BELIEVE THE PATTERNS you observe. As these often have been developed and deepened unconsciously over many years. Especially if a certain incongruency presents itself over and over again. ​​​​​​​​

WHAT IS IT?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's a journaling technique and personal development tool to process your thoughts and feelings. It's especially useful when looking at stressors that trigger us in a certain way. This can e.g. refer to people in our environment, stressful situations/events that happened in the past or that occur in our daily life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No, it's not like writing a diary! It's more intuitive and hence works on a rather subconscious level. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's a simple yet powerful tool to reveal, sort out and release any unresolved or repressed feelings/thought patterns/beliefs.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
HOW DOES IT WORK?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Set your timer for 20 mins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Start free-writing about the identified stressor and any negative thoughts and feelings you have in this context⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. No matter what, keep writing without putting the pen down or actively thinking about what you are writing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. It's ok to get off track. Sometimes the mind makes surprising connections from one situation to another.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Be very honest & write down the thoughts and feelings you would be mortified to speak out loud. Focus on your deepest emotions, whether they feel rational or not. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Try as hard as you can to experience those emotions as you write.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. After the 20 mins are over, take another 10 mins to just sit in silence with whatever came up during your writing (without any judgement).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8. Now invite your rational part of your brain to reflect what came up for you and what you have understood and realized & how you will choose to frame this situation going forward.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do these feelings connect to how you show up in the world? What feelings are no longer serving you & what do you choose to release? What new boundaries and strategies will help you to move forward?...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To some people this might sound a little cheesy as they are convinced they know exactly who they are. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But are you really aware of why you THINK, FEEL and ACT the way you do? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Most of us are experts in something that is rather part of our OUTER WORLD.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Since we were little, we learned how to consume knowledge on a particular subject to get a better understanding of it & to eventually become really good at it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And we continued to do so throughout our adult life, e.g. in university and/or during our work life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Modern society is structured in a way that directs our attention primarily to aspects outside of us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So, even if you have a high IQ and are really smart, you can still find yourself struggling in life and feeling unsatisfied without actually knowing WHY this is the case.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Often times people are so obsessed with the aspect of not losing any time, of being constantly on the fast track & of filling up every single minute of their day...in order to feel a sense of PRODUCTIVITY and short-term SATISFACTION. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, feeling & keeping yourself BUSY all the time doesn't necessarily mean you are more productive, neither more successful or happy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sometimes it's just a way of DISTRACTING ourselves from some topics that require some intrinsic reflection, some inner work.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you are someone with a strong sense of BELONGING, you might tend to often adapt to your outer world to make sure you FIT IN, to make sure you belong somewhere, somehow...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But this sometimes 'false' sense of belonging can also stop you from following your own, individual path. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Chances are high that you are only focused on the 5% of your CONSCIOUS MIND. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Many people consume a lot of knowledge (which is great), they constantly try to sharpen their way of thinking and behaving by using different techniques, but actually don't realize that they are focused on optimizing only 5% of their entire potential. And these 5% can only get you so far...!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
