My Best friend texted me this morning this quote: " If you have the power to eat alone at a restaurant, or sit alone in a cinema, then you have the power to do absolutely anything you want in life" and he asked if I agree 🤔
Yes, there is courage to face your loneliness and overcome it by being a pleasant company to yourself.
Yes, there is courage to set boundaries and choose to be by yourself when you need it.
Yes, choosing to be alone and doing the things you like with your own company is a choice and a preference.
But we know very well that cultivating positive healthy relationships and being surrounded has many benefits to us as humans.
We can't succeed alone, we have to work with others to reach places ...
We need others to do absolutely what we want. It is inevitable.
Proven studies show the correlation between healthy relationships and lower rates of anxiety, depression, higher self-esteem, and greater empathy.
Strong, healthy relationships can also help to strengthen your immune system and help you stay healthy in general to achieve greater performance.
With age, we appreciate a more healthy and quality relationship, this for sure. Gallup studies indicate globally that the lowest rates of feeling lonely are reported among older adults (aged 65 and older), with 17% feeling very or fairly lonely, while the highest rates of feeling lonely are reported among young adults (aged 19 to 29), with 27% feeling very or fairly lonely.
Personally, I feel on top of the world when I am surrounded by my loved ones, and I am pretty sure I will not feel the same if I was alone on top of the world, what's the point anyways to be on top and alone with no one to share your joy and success with?
What about you? Do you agree with this quote?
