This was me in back in February 2018 running my first ever public speaking workshop in London šŸŽ¤ - a month before I moved to the UAE.

There was a time when I was absolutely terrified of public speaking.

I would feel incredibly nervous.
My hands would shake.
I’d rush through my slides.
And I’d feel SO relieved when it was over😫

What my experience taught me is that public speaking isn’t usually something you choose to do. It’s something your role requires of you.

You get promoted.
You lead a team.
You pitch.
You present.
You speak on panels.

And suddenly, confidence becomes the difference between staying where you are and stepping into bigger rooms.

Since 2017, I’ve consistently coached and trained professionals and business owners on developing their:

• Confidence
• Executive presence
• Communication
• Public speaking skills

It’s been a journey filled with growth, setbacks, rebuilding and resilience - especially growing a business from scratch in a new country.

I didn’t have a roadmap but I was relentless about having self-belief and obsessed with building something that makes a real impact.

Nine years later, I’m still deeply committed to helping people feel powerful, self-assured and clear in their own voice.

If this resonates and you’d like to explore how I can support you or your team, feel free to message me and we can arrange a call.

What’s the link between having being a confident speaker and having a grounded nervous system?

When your nervous system is regulated, you’re able to:
-Think clearly under pressure
-Stay present with your audience
-Respond rather than react
-Communicate with calm authority

True executive presence comes from self-awareness and emotional regulation - because people don’t just listen to your words, they feel your energy. And if you constantly have 100 tabs open in your mind at all times it makes it much harder to be present and connect with your audience.

When you learn to regulate yourself, you naturally become a more confident, engaging and impactful speaker šŸ’«

Alongside 1:1 leadership coaching and corporate trainings, one thing I love doing on the side is working with young people, supporting them to develop the tools to build confidence, develop a positive mindset and more resilience to help them prepare for their future.

Last month, I delivered a confidence and communication workshop at King’s College London, where I completed my postgrad, and this weekend I delivered a public speaking session at the Summit in Dubai, hosted at Abu Dhabi University. Thank you to the student team who organised such a great event šŸŽ¤

Young people today are navigating a lot of pressure, comparison, uncertainty - and confidence is one of the biggest challenges I see, but I’m always really inspired by how much of a growth mindset they have and their willingness to learn and get out of their comfort zones.
I also keep a small number of 1:1 coaching spaces open for young people. If you’re a parent and this feels relevant, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can have a call to discuss šŸ’«

2016 vs 2026 ✨

This seems like a whole lifetime ago - pre quarter life crisis where I left my stable public health career, started my own business, left London and moved to the UAE šŸ‡¦šŸ‡Ŗ

As you can see from the caption in the first slide - public speaking was ā€˜one of my most scariest moments so far’ - if you had told me then that I would one day LOVE public speaking. train C-suite on how to speak with confidence, and run a business that involves a lot of speaking I probably would have laughed so hard because I remember that talk - I was shaking, felt sick, looked down the whole time and rushed just to get through. (I actually spoke about this memory at a talk I delivered at Abu Dhabi university this morning - a cute full circle moment).

I started to build my confidence with speaking and gave a talk at the Houses of Parliament.

I had a lot of energy and hated the idea of sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day and so started ā€˜office yoga’ at Public Health England where we all got up twice a day and did some stretches. People initially looked at me like I was crazy but I didn’t care and did it anyway because it helped me. The idea caught on and the group became so big and the concept accidentally ended up spreading nationally. I was interviewed about what I had started and then it ended up being something that offices did all around the country - haha (follow that crazy idea you have guys).

Brunches in London, oversized necklaces, chubby cheeks, lots of insecurities, selfie sticks, and when we only used IG to follow our friends and post our meals ā¤ļø

Back in Dubai for the next few weeks where I’ll be delivering a number of 1:1 public speaking intensives.

There’s SO much going on in the region right now with upcoming summits, conferences , panel talks and with that the desire to communicate with confidence, articulate ideas clearly and continue building strong personal brands.

It’s been pretty exciting over the past few months working with clients across a wide range of industries including AI, legal, football, procurement, finance, real estate, telecoms and construction (I also love how much I learn about what’s happening in each industry from their presentations!).

I have a couple of spaces available for 1:1 bespoke programmes. If you would like to explore working together, or are interested in hosting something for your team - feel free to drop me a message and let’s have a conversation.

ā€œI’m self-conscious of my accentā€
ā€œEnglish isn’t my first languageā€
With the UAE being so culturally diverse, these are barriers that come up a lot from clients during sessions and reasons for them saying no to speaking at conferences and panel invitations.

But this is the wrong thing to focus on. English could be your first language, but if you’re monotone, using lots of filler words, having closed body language, and not engaging your audience then your audience will lose focus and you won’t be able to make an impact.
If you’re in a leadership role and want to sharpen your public speaking skills, drop me a message and let’s have a conversation.

Wishing everyone a beautiful 2026ā¤ļø
