Critical policies just updated in the UAE.
If you run a company, hire staff, or manage corporate tax, here is what you need to know today:
1. Free Zone 0% Tax (FTA Decision No. 6/2026)
Free Zone distributors must now submit an annual Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) audit report from an independent registered auditor. Missing this filing will result in forfeiting Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) status and paying the standard 9% corporate tax rate.
2. Employer Compliance (MoHRE Resolution No. 504/2026)
MoHRE has clarified six specific violations regarding mandatory employee health insurance. Non-compliant mainland and free zone companies face an immediate suspension of new work permits and visa renewals.
3. Visa Onboarding (ICP Directive)
Mandatory Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) with dual attestation (UAE Embassy in the home country plus UAE MOFA) are expanding across 45 nationalities for new entry and work permits. Phase 2 is currently active; Phase 3 takes effect November 15. In-country renewals remain exempt.
4. Commercial Fraud (Cabinet Decision No. 107/2026)
Applicable nationwide across Mainland and Free Zones. Flagged goods require a mandatory 24-hour recall and a 48-hour bilingual public notice. Warehouses, distributors, and logistics intermediaries now share joint legal liability with suppliers.
Staying compliant prevents administrative freezes, unexpected tax exposure, and onboarding delays.
