Job Title: Expeditor Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Location: Sharjah Division: Oil & Gas Projects
Summary
To coordinate and expedite the delivery of merchandise, equipment and supplies so that the production schedule may be followed.
Responsibilities
• Initiate order placement to Vendors, ensure compliance to policies such as comparative quotations and budgeted costs etc.., follow up with supplier on delivery and order acknowledgement, check and validate price/Qty/terms/delivery dates in supplier order acknowledgement, purchase order progress monitoring weekly/bi-weeky , update procurement progress to customers
• Coordinate with Project management team on issuance of purchase orders
• Monitor & expedite all purchase orders issued to suppliers
• Monitor and notify all parties on readiness of equipment
• Coordinate necessary inspection and ensure notifications to all parties in accordance with customer and supplier contracts
• Ensure submission of Inspection documents to customers and coordinate for approval of same
• Consult with shipping agents and vendors to make sure that merchandise and supplies are delivered by predetermined dates.
• Maintain a constant/structure communication between customer, vendor and all internal teams
• Analyze project schedule coordinate with suppliers on prioritization on manufacturing and deliveries
• Responsible for distributing production and shipment schedules, and meeting with department supervisors to discuss progress and completion dates.
• Create reports detailing work in progress, costs, production issues and inventory levels.
• Reviewing contract terms and conditions and ensuring compliance
• Any other tasks that may be requested by line manager from time to time.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferably engineering or diploma in respective discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role is mandatory
• Excellent MS Office suite skills
• Previous experience in oil & gas industry is preferable
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
• Knowledge of all negotiable instruments like LC’s, BG’s etc.
• Knowledge of Incoterms
• Experience on any ERP systems will be an added advantage
• Strong ability to persuade and influence others.
• Commitment to customer service and ability to lead others within the team.
• Ability to maintain confidential information is critical.
