Dubai visa guide for 2026 — every type, every cost, step by step.

Employment visa: AED 3,500-5,500 (7-14 days)
Golden Visa: AED 5,000 all-inclusive (14-30 days)
Family visa: AED 3,000-5,000 per person
Freelance visa: AED 7,500-15,000
Tourist visa: AED 350-1,500

Common mistakes:
1. Letting visa expire (AED 125/day fine!)
2. Wrong visa type for your activity
3. Not budgeting for dependents
4. The 6-month rule — leave UAE 6+ months = auto-cancellation

500 companies. 11 years. 1 lesson that keeps proving itself.

Last month we formed our 500th company. Looking back at the data, one pattern stands out above everything else:

The entrepreneurs who succeed in Dubai are NOT the ones with the biggest budgets. They're the ones who made the RIGHT structural decisions from day one.

I've seen someone start with AED 5,500 in a free zone and build a 7-figure business in 18 months. I've also seen someone invest AED 200,000 in a mainland setup and close within a year.

The difference? Structure-market fit.

Thank you to every entrepreneur who trusted YABS with their business journey. From our very first client in 2015 to our 500th today — we don't take that trust lightly.

Here's to the next 500.

Everything you need to know about PRO services in Dubai — in one guide.

What is a PRO? How much does it cost? Do you really need one?

We broke it down:
- Per-transaction: AED 500-3,000
- Monthly retainer: AED 1,500-5,000
- Annual package: AED 6,000-24,000

What's included: visa processing, license renewal, labor cards, Emirates ID, document attestation, UBO filing, corporate tax registration.

The honest truth: you CAN do PRO work yourself. But each government visit takes 2-4 hours and multiple trips.

After setting up 500+ companies, I can predict with 90% accuracy which businesses will succeed in Dubai and which will struggle.

The pattern is simple. Successful ones do these 5 things:

1. Choose the right structure FIRST
Not the cheapest. Not what their friend did. The one that matches their actual business model. A consulting firm, a restaurant, and an e-commerce store need completely different setups.

2. Get the bank account sorted IMMEDIATELY
Don't wait. Apply for your corporate bank account within the first week of getting your license. Banks are getting stricter, and delays of 3-4 months are common if you miss the window.

3. Understand their visa obligations
Every visa holder is a cost center AND a commitment. Plan how many visas you actually need before you sign up for a package.

4. Budget for year two
First-year costs are clear. But renewal, Ejari, visa renewals, insurance — year two surprises catch people off guard. Budget AED 15,000-25,000 for maintenance.

5. Get a PRO service from day one
Trying to handle government processes yourself in a foreign country is the fastest way to burn out.

YABS handles all five of these. From structure advice to ongoing PRO support.

I moved to Dubai in 2010 with a suitcase and a plan.

Fifteen years later, having helped 500+ entrepreneurs build their businesses here, I can tell you this: Dubai is still the best city in the world to start a business. But not for the reasons most people think.

It's not just the tax benefits. It's the speed.

In most countries, company formation takes weeks or months. Here, you can go from zero to a fully licensed, operational business with a bank account in 14 days. I've seen it happen hundreds of times.

But speed means nothing without the right structure. The biggest mistake I see new entrepreneurs make: choosing the cheapest option without understanding the long-term implications.

A free zone company at AED 5,500 is perfect for digital businesses and international trading. But if you want to sell directly to UAE consumers or win government contracts, you need a mainland license.

My advice: Spend 30 minutes talking to someone who's done it 500 times before you spend 30 hours trying to figure it out yourself.

That's what we do at YABS — free consultations, honest advice, zero pressure.

What is the SINGLE BIGGEST challenge you faced starting a business in Dubai?

A) Understanding license types and company structures
B) The total cost being higher than expected
C) Opening a corporate bank account
D) Finding the right office or flexi-desk
E) Visa processing and immigration paperwork

Drop your answer below. I'll share results next week with solutions.

From 500+ company formations at YABS, the answer is usually C. Bank account opening is the most frustrating part — takes longer than the license itself.

But with corporate tax now in effect, compliance is becoming the new #1 headache.

- No office lease required
- License in 3-5 days

UAE local clients → Mainland
