The monetary policy of a country is defined as a set of decisions and actions taken by the central bank or a similar organization in order to control the inflation rate, demand and supply balance, interest rate and the value of the national currency.
To achieve these goals, monetary policy uses various tools. These tools include:
- Setting the interest rate: By setting the interest rate, the central bank determines how much money is in circulation, and the demand and supply of money are affected by the increase or decrease in the interest rate.
- Changing the bank facility rate: To control the demand and supply of money, the central bank can change the bank facility rate.
- Creation of new money: The central bank can increase demand by creating new money or increasing the amount of money in circulation, and by reducing the price of money, it can reduce inflation.
- Setting the exchange rate: the central bank can control foreign trade and the value of the national currency by setting the exchange rate.
- Determining the growth rate of money: the central bank can control inflation and interest rates by determining the growth rate of money.
In general, the monetary policy of a country is very important and has a great impact on the country's economy. With the proper control of monetary policy, the country's economy will improve and problems such as inflation, high interest rates, and the declining value of the national currency will be reduced.
