You can tune Dilruba in any Raga or major that you prefer but tuning should be done note by note and with concentration. A single not tuned note on Dilruba can spoil the beautiful sound it makes. The tool to tune Dilruba is so simple and handmade. As you see in the picture.

Dilruba is a stringed instrument. Its name has been derived from two words namely dil + ruba. Dil means heart and ruba means enchanter(robber). So Dilruba means something that enchants the heart. it is mainly used in religious songs and light classical music in the northern part of India and rarely in Afghanistan. An alternative to Dilruba is called as Esraj and it is popularly used in South of India.

Dear friends,
I hope you and your family be well and healthy.
This week I was performing with friends at the French Cultural Centre (in the Estiqlal High School) in Kabul. We were playing a French piece that was about the explosions/suicide bombings which happens in Afghanistan. The program was called "Heartbeat: Silence After the Explosion". During the evening a very bad young man detonated his own explosives backstage to kill and hurt people. Our director Ahmad Sarmast was injured along with 20 other people. We hope he will recover soon.
My friends I was playing with, Rohullah RU , Ahmadullah Nabizada, Samim Zafar Khan, Mustafa Darwish, and Waheed Amiri, are okay in body but we are all sad in spirit. Please keep us close to your hearts.
