The recent report regarding rise in the number of HIV/AIDS cases in Afghanistan is a cause for concern. It is good to dig deep and find out the reason for the spike in the number of cases. Some questions that come to mind include:
1. Improvements in disease surveillance for infectious disease including HIV/AIDS
2. Increase in influx of returnees from neighboring countries and Europe
