Recently, Abkons had the pleasure of attending the 13th Balkans Joint Conference & Exhibition, organized by SHUKALB and SHUKOS in Durrës.
It was a valuable opportunity to connect with national institutions, key stakeholders, and international companies and experts, expanding our network in the water sector and exchanging insights on the future of water and wastewater services. 💧

Of particular interest were the technical sessions on Wastewater and Sludge Management, where Albanian and international colleagues shared best practices and innovative approaches. We were pleased to see one of these sessions moderated by our key expert, Ms. Enkelejda Gjinali, whose contribution added significant value to the discussions.

These conversations further strengthened our ongoing commitment to the water and sanitation sector. With a growing portfolio in environment, water, wastewater, and infrastructure, we remain focused on supporting resilient and sustainable systems across the Western Balkans. 🌍

Meet Realdo Silaj, our Senior Business Development Consultant 🚀

With an impressive academic and professional journey across Europe, Realdo brings a rich blend of policy expertise, experience with international policy, and strategic development skills to our team.

A Master of Public Policy from the University of Cambridge, he combines analytical skills with a strong understanding of global governance and development and their local impact. His academic background is reinforced by practical experience across diverse sectors, from government and universities to international civil society and private consultancy.

At Abkons, Realdo coordinates complex tendering processes and proposal development across the Western Balkans. In addition, Realdo holds an important role in the coordination and support for the implementation of an exceptional project where Abkons is a proud partner, the Technical Assistance to the Government of Albania for the EU Integration Process.

Before joining us, Realdo contributed to transport policy research in Cambridge, advised the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, and held several leadership roles within the EYP Network. His work has consistently focused on policy impact, civic action, sustainable growth, and international cooperation.

A skilled researcher and communicator, he’s fluent in multiple languages and proficient in policy and academic research, business and management tools. His work on democratisation, EU Integration, renewable energy, and sustainable transport reflects a deep commitment to forward-looking policy. 🌍

Beyond the office, Realdo is passionate about tradition and culture, youth empowerment, community engagement, and multicultural exchange. He has led several civic initiatives, showing that policy is not just theory, but a vehicle for change. 💡
