We are delighted to share that Areni and the Areni-1 Cave archaeological complex have been highlighted in the recent Dreams Abroad article, "Discover 5 of the Best Wine Regions Around the World."
More than a beautiful wine region, Areni is home to the world's oldest known winery, discovered inside Areni-1 Cave and dating back over 6,100 years. The excavation revealed a complete winemaking installation, including a wine press, fermentation vessels, storage jars, and drinking cups, providing extraordinary evidence of humanity's earliest wine-producing traditions.
This international recognition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Armenia's rich cultural heritage, archaeological treasures, and living winemaking traditions to a global audience.
