“Econometric Models for Probabilistic Forecasting” training took place on 19th - 20th September, 2013
A 2-day training course organized by Baker Tilly Armenia took place at Royal Tulip Grand Hotel Yerevan. It was targeted at business analysts engaged in forecasting and analysis. Different quantitative techniques were discussed for the development of deterministic (no risk) and probabilistic (risk included) forecasts. Those forecasting techniques included regression-based models to capture linear and non-linear trends, seasonality, cyclical, and structural variations.
Professionals from different industries were participating at the training. The latter was more practical rather than theoretical, and participants were provided with a 30 day trial version of a risk analysis software - Simetar©. Material was presented by a leading specialist in the field - Rafael Bakhtavoryan, who used the software to show the practical application of each and every presented method during the training.
An evaluation afterwards revealed that participants were satisfied with the results of the training and considered presented methods applicable and useful for their field of work.
