Why is a structured rodent control program important?

Rodent control is important for both food establishments and residences because rodents can contaminate food, damage property, and spread disease.

In food establishments, rodents can create serious health-code violations by contaminating ingredients, surfaces, packaging, and storage areas with droppings, urine, hair, and bacteria. An infestation can lead to failed inspections, customer complaints, reputational damage, and even temporary closure.

In residences, rodents can chew wires, insulation, furniture, and stored goods. They may also create fire risks by damaging electrical wiring and can spread allergens and pathogens inside living spaces.

Effective rodent control helps protect health, maintain sanitation, prevent structural damage, and keep homes and businesses safe, clean, and compliant.
