New words are born when reality runs out of vocabulary. A little dramatic, yes. Also painfully common.
Technology, medicine, finance, marketing, and culture keep creating concepts that did not need names yesterday but absolutely need them today. For translators, the question is not only “what does this word mean?” It is also: how will this audience understand it?
Some neologisms should be translated. Others should be kept, adapted, explained, or standardized over time. Choose badly, and the message sounds forced. Choose well, and a new idea feels natural.
At Stillman Translations, we help new concepts travel without sounding like they got lost at customs.
