Today I turned 33. Mixed feelings honestly 😅
I’ve been reflecting a little more than usual lately. On life, thedecisions we make, the people we meet along the way, and how differently you understand certain things as you get older.
Life has had plenty of ups and downs. There have been moments where I’ve questioned myself, moments where things haven’t worked out as planned, and others where life has taken me somewhere I probably couldn’t have imagined years earlier.
One thing I’ve learned is that a little self-belief goes a long way. Having a vision for where you want to go matters, even when nobody else can quite see it yet. But I think equally important is how you treat people while you’re getting there. With kindness, patience and care, because you really never know what someone else is carrying or what life might throw at any of us.
As I’ve gotten older and specially today, I’ve also been thinking even more about family.
I lost connection with parts of mine many years ago, and I haven’t really had a father actively present in my life for a long time. When I was younger, I probably didn’t fully understand what that meant. Now, looking back as an adult, I understand much more clearly the importance of having that figure growing up. I will be honest It is something I miss, and probably something I yearn for more now than I did when I was younger.
At the same time, I’m grateful for what those earlier years gave me, for what they taught me, and for the person those experiences ultimately helped me become. Life doesn’t always give us the relationships, circumstances or answers we imagined we would have. Sometimes you just learn to carry certain things differently.
More than anything, it has made me appreciate the people who are in my life today. 🤗
The people who show up. The people who care. The people who believe in you, challenge you, laugh with you and stick around through the less glamorous parts of life.
I feel There is still so much I want to do, build, experience and become. But I’m also trying to remember that life isn’t only about what comes next.
Sometimes it’s worth looking around and appreciating what, and who, is already here.
