Before, during and beyond surgery 💙

Today, on World Anesthesia Day, we celebrate the anesthesia teams who care for every patient along the entire perioperative pathway. Their decisions shape safety long before the first incision and long after the last suture.

Hemodynamic stability runs through this whole journey, and that's where CNAP® comes in:

🔹 Before surgery
Quick and easy application: one finger sensor and an upper arm cuff deliver full hemodynamics in 90 seconds. This gives you an individual baseline before induction, without an arterial line.

🔹 During surgery
Continuous, beat-to-beat blood pressure plus advanced hemodynamics (SV, CO) and dynamic fluid parameters (PPV, SVV). This gives you immediate feedback to support individualized blood pressure and fluid management, also in addition to an arterial line.

🔹 Beyond surgery
What happens in the OR matters afterward. In hip and knee replacement patients, a fluid management protocol based on CNAP® measurements was associated with fewer postoperative complications.¹ Reusable finger sensors keep non-invasive monitoring cost-efficient.

Non-invasive. Easy to use. Cost-efficient. Hemodynamic monitoring for all low- and intermediate-risk surgeries.

Thank you to all anesthesiologists and anesthesia nurses worldwide, today and every day.

🌍 From Graz to the Himalayas: CNSystems arrives in Bhutan!

A new destination, a shared mission, and another step towards advancing patient monitoring around the world.

We are currently on site in Bhutan, working hand in hand with our valued partner Karma Pharmaceutical & Medical Supplies to install CNAP® Monitors at a local hospital.

Why does this matter? Because every heartbeat counts, no matter where in the world a patient is treated.

🤝 Together, we’re bringing innovative, continuous non-invasive blood pressure monitoring technology closer to healthcare professionals and supporting them in delivering the best possible care to their patients.

✈️ Next stop: MEDICA 2026!

What if you could see every heartbeat's blood pressure with nothing more than a finger cuff?

Join us in Düsseldorf at Medica and experience continuous, beat-to-beat blood pressure measurement and hemodynamic monitoring first-hand.

Interested in expanding your product portfolio or bring innovative healthcare technology to new markets?
We're looking for distribution partners who want to shape the future of non-invasive monitoring with us. Ready to grow together? Come say hello.

Today is World Patient Safety Day. This year's WHO theme: safe care for noncommunicable diseases — with cardiovascular disease at the top of that list.

In cardiovascular care, blood pressure is a central parameter. How closely it is monitored makes the difference.

Standard continuous measurement means an arterial line: accurate, but invasive enough that it stays largely limited to the ICU and high-risk surgery, as it is associated with more risks. The most common method is upper-arm blood opressure measurement, measuring only snapshots, minutes apart. What happens between two cuff readings stays invisible — and hypotension that goes unseen goes untreated.

Continuous and non-invasive is no longer a contradiction: a method that brings both together without the drawbacks of either. CNAP® technology reads blood pressure continuously, right at the finger. No puncture, no catheter, no blind minutes between readings. What happens to the patient shows up on the monitor as it happens — and clinicians who see a drop coming can act before it becomes an event. Patient safety you can see, beat-to-beat.

Postoperative hypotension after noncardiac surgery is frequent: 73,3% below 75mmHg, 37,7% below 65mmHg

A prospective, blinded observational study at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. In 1,002 patients, blood pressure was measured hourly by automated oscillometry over the first 3 postoperative days.
37.7% of patients had at least one postoperative episode of MAP < 65 mmHg, with a median cumulative duration of 180 minutes, or 7.1% of their monitoring time. Severe hypotension (MAP < 55 mmHg) occurred in 9.1% of patients and briefly (60-120 min). Readings below 75 mmHg, by contrast, were frequent (73.3% of patients) and often prolonged (182-1052 min). Incidence fell from 30% of participants on postoperative day 1 to 17% on day 3.

Exploratory findings: compared to patients without hypotension, patients with postoperative hypotension had higher rates of acute kidney injury (10.5% vs. 7.4%) and unplanned ICU admission (4.0% vs. 1.3%). Overall complication rates according to Clavien-Dindo classification did not differ between patients with and without postoperative hypotensive events (28.3% vs. 27.1%).

The authors conclude that postoperative hypotension within the first 3 postoperative days is common but rarely severe or prolonged, and that large-scale trials are still needed to show whether continuous postoperative monitoring and targeted blood pressure management can help improve patient-centred outcomes.

And the show goes on at Medical Fair Asia!

Our booth has been busy from the start, and the curiosity in our technology is genuinely gratifying — a great show so far, and exactly the conversations we came for.

We're looking for committed distribution partners in the Asian market who want to expand their portfolio with non-invasive continuous monitoring technologies. If that sounds like you, come by — we'd love to talk.

One more day to meet our dedicated team on site: Sabine, Roland and Christian.
