GRANDE EXPLOIT DI ISCRITTI PER RALLYLEGEND 2022, IN PROGRAMMA DAL 13 AL 16 OTTOBRE. TANTI CAMPIONI MONDIALI, UNA FOLLA DI GRANDI NOMI DEL RALLYSMO E NON SOLO, IN ARRIVO DA PIU’ DI VENTI NAZIONI, UN CLAMOROSO ELENCO DI VETTURE STORICHE E DI INTERESSE SPORTIVO DI ALTA QUALITA’: IL MIGLIOR MODO PER FESTEGGIARE IL VENTESIMO COMPLEANNO DI RALLYLEGEND.
Repubblica di San Marino. Da stropicciarsi gli occhi. Non basta una sola lettura per rendersi conto della ricchezza di un elenco iscritti di Rallylegend, edizione numero venti, che ha pochi eguali in passato. Ad ogni passaggio sulle 180 righe delle adesioni all’evento rallistico più atteso dell’anno, si scoprono nomi di campioni mondiali, di grandi fuoriclasse internazionali, di nomi noti, insieme ad un parco macchine che, quest’anno più che mai, è un museo in movimento delle vetture più importanti e più rare della storia dei rally.
Un grande gesto di passione e di affetto, da oltre 20 Nazioni di tutto il mondo, verso Rallylegend che festeggia così, nel modo migliore, i primi venti di vita, di spettacolo, di entusiasmo per i rally di ogni epoca, in scena, come consuetudine, nella Repubblica di San Marino, dal 13 al 16 ottobre. Grande abbraccio all’evento di casa anche dagli equipaggi sammarinesi, ben sedici iscritti con altri nove conterranei piloti o navigatori di equipaggi di nazionalità “mista”.
Un unico rammarico per gli Organizzatori: l’impossibilità di far partire, per ragioni logistiche e di struttura del percorso di gara, tutti i 230 equipaggi che hanno inviato l’iscrizione.
UN RALLYLEGEND 2022 CON OSPITI STREPITOSI TRA LE “LEGEND STARS”, PIU’ LEGEND CHE MAI ...
È davvero lunghissima la lista dei “top drivers” presenti a Rallylegend, impegnati in gara nel rally, tra le spettacolari Legend Stars, nelle Parade celebrative o negli incontri a Rallylegend Village.
Tra i campioni del Mondiale Rally di ogni tempo, impegnati tra le Legend Stars, puro spettacolo senza rilevamento dei tempi, ci saranno Walter Rohrl e Christian Geistdorfer insieme a Markku Alen e Ilkka Kivimaki, con due Lancia 037 Martini, il nostro Miki Biasion (doveva essere insieme a Tiziano Siviero, incappato alcuni giorni fa in un grave incidente stradale e a cui vanno gli auguri di pronta guarigione di Rallylegend), con una Lancia 037 Totip. Attesissimo anche il giovanissimo leader del Mondiale Rally Piloti 2022 Kalle Rovanpera, che disporrà di una Toyota Celica ST 185 della scuderia di Latvala, in una sfida in famiglia a suon di controsterzi con il padre Harri Rovanpera, al via con una Celica ST 205. L’elenco prosegue con Jimmy McRae, papà dell’indimenticabile Colin, in coppia con Nicola Arena, con una della tante, splendide Subaru Impreza 555 gruppo A presenti, con lo svedese Per-Gunnar Andersson, che i più attenti ricorderanno pilota ufficiale della Suzuki SX4 WRC nel 2008, dopo avere vinto due mondiali Junior nel 2004 e 2007, e con il norvegese Ole Christian Veiby, ex pilota ufficiale Hyundai Motorsport nel WRC2 2020 e 2021, questi ultimi due con le potenti Audi S1 RX da rallycross. Di alto livello la rappresentanza italiana e sammarinese tra le Legend Stars. Ci saranno Tonino Tognana e Massimo De Antoni, nella prima tappa con la Opel Ascona 1.9 SR gruppo 2 e nella seconda con la Ferrari 308 GTB, “Tony” Fassina, con la indimenticabile Lancia Stratos Bianca del trionfo al Sanremo mondiale del 1979, l’altra Lancia Stratos di Mauro Sipsz e Monica Bregoli, Federico Ormezzano, con la sua Talbot Lotus, “Pedro” su Lancia Delta HF, i giovani figli d’arte Alberto Battistolli, con la Lancia Delta Integrale con cui papà Luigi impazza nei rally storici Europei e Italiani e Angelo Pucci Grossi, con la rossa Lancia Delta di papà Pucci, grande campione dei rally su terra, prematuramente scomparso. Poi ancora il funambolico Paolo Diana, che torna con la vitaminizzata Fiat 131 racing, Paolo Valli, con la Lancia Delta S4, la rara e potente Gruppo B che avrà il velocista Marco Gramenzi, la splendida Ford RS 200 gruppo B di Ezio Facchinello, la fantastica Audi S1 E2 Pikes Peak di Giorgio Mela, la rara Hyundai Accent di Marcello Miotto, la Ford Focus WRC ex McRae di Carlo Falcone, le due splendide Lancia Stratos e Lancia 037 versione Safari di Filippo e Stefano Avandero.
TANTI GRANDI NOMI IN GARA A RALLYLEGEND: JARI-MATTI LATVALA AL VIA TRA LE “CLASSIC”
Sono tanti i campioni e i “big” che non resistono al richiamo del cronometro e scendono in gara a Rallylegend nelle tre categorie tradizionali “Historic”, “Classic” (nuova denominazione delle “Myth”) e “WRC” che comprende anche R5, R-GT e Super 1600.
Nella categoria “Classic”, lotto di pretendenti alla vittoria di altissimo livello. Spicca Jari-Matti Latvala, ex pilota ufficiale nel Mondiale Rally e oggi team principal Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, al via a Rallylegend conuna Toyota Celica St 165 della sua scuderia. A rendergli la vita dura proveranno Gustavo Trelles, con Jorge Del Buono con una Subaru Legacy, il portoghese Rui Madeira, con una Subaru Impreza, “Lucky” Battistolli, con Fabrizia Pons e “Zippo” Zivian, anche loro con due Subaru Impreza gruppo A. Anche con le due sole ruote motrici della sua BMW M3, da tenere d’occhio il veloce sammarinese Marcello Colombini.
Tra le “Historic”, il vincitore del 2021 Simone Brusori, con al fianco Enzo Zafferani, un pezzo di storia del motorsport sammarinese, ritenta il centro con la sua Porsche 911 RS. Manrico Falleri, in coppia con Sauro Farnocchia (Ford Es**rt MkII) e Francesco Nerobutto (Ford Es**rt RS) sono tra gli avversari più quotati, come il terzetto di “piedoni” sammarinesi Giuliano Calzolari (Ford Es**rt RS), Stefano Rosati (Talbot Lotus) e Loris Baldacci (Ford Es**rt RS).
Ricco il piatto anche nella categoria “WRC”, con il più volte campione elvetico Sebastien Carron (Porsche 997 GT3) e Luca Pedersoli (Citroen DS3 WRC), pluricampione italiano Trofeo Asfalto e Italiano WRC e in passato vice-campione Europeo Rally. Competitivi anche gli altri piloti svizzeri, anche loro su Citroen DS3 WRC, Mirko Puricelli e Max Beltrami. Da segnalare la presenza di “Il Valli”, con la Ford Fiesta WRC Plus e di Nicola Stefani, con la altra “Plus” Citroen C3 WRC e di Rachele Somaschini, con Daiana Darderi, su Citroen C3 R5, pilota di spessore e istruttrice di guida federale, testimonial della lotta contro la fibrosi cistica, patologia da cui è affetta, ma che non le ha impedito di avere una brillante carriera al volante.
RALLYLEGEND HERITAGE: UNDICI REGINE A QUATTRO RUOTE CON IL “PEDIGREE” IN GARA
Sono impegnate in una gara di regolarità le “Rallylegend Heritage”, selezionate, rare e splendide macchine storiche, nella meccanica e livrea dell’epoca, che quest’anno comprendono vetture dal 1974 al 1981. Al via anche Sandro Giacomelli, su Fiat 131 Abarth Gruppo 4, vincitore di due edizioni di questa categoria.
NELLA “PARADE” DI SABATO 15 E DOMENICA 16 OTTOBRE, MACCHINE E PILOTI DA SOGNO
Spettacolo da non perdere quello che va in scena sul percorso della prova speciale “The Legend” nel sabato e alla domenica di Rallylegend. La “Parade” riservata alla Lancia 037 della celebrazione dei quaranta anni dal debutto agonistico, la “Parade” della Lancia Delta, la sfilata delle Subaru Impreza, con i modelli più importanti della sua storia agonistica e le Best Impreza del progetto di Carlo Boroli. Al volante di tutte queste meraviglie da rally, tanti campioni: Juha Kankkunen, Dario Cerrato, Adartico Vudafieri, Andrea Aghini, Andrea Zanussi, Piero Liatti, i grandi campioni di Formula 1 René Arnoux e Arturo Merzario.

Il grande e vincente “condottiero” sportivo di Fiat, Lancia e Ferrari F1 Cesare Fiorio sarà tra gli ospiti di prestigio degli eventi e degli incontri all’interno di Rallylegend Village, cosi come Malcom Wilson, già pilota ufficiale nel Mondiale Rally e oggi general manager del team M-Sport nel WRC. Presente anche la famiglia dell’indimenticabile Colin Mc Rae, coinvolta nel progetto Best Impreza, con papà Jimmy, la madre Margaret, il fratello Stuart e la figlia Hollie, che sarà protagonista attiva negli incontri al Village, accompagnata a San Marino dalla madre Alison.

A FLURRY OF ENTRIES FOR RALLYLEGEND 2022, TAKING PLACE ON 13-16 OCTOBER.
MANY WORLD CHAMPIONS, A LONG LIST OF BIG NAMES FROM THE RALLY WORLD AND FURTHER AFIELD FROM MORE THAN TWENTY COUNTRIES, AND AN IMPRESSIVE ARRAY OF HIGH-LEVEL HISTORIC SPORTS CARS: THE BEST WAY TO CELEBRATE THE TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF RALLYLEGEND.
Republic of San Marino. It’s enough to having you rubbing your eyes. You’ll need to read the Rallylegend entry list more than once to believe it, as a truly incredible array of names are ready for this twentieth edition, the likes of which we’ve rarely seen. Among the 180 attendees set to attend the most highly awaited rallying event of the year are world champions, international masters and big names, as well as a fleet of cars that, more than ever before, is a museum in motion featuring the most important and rarest cars in rallying history. A real gesture of affection, from more than twenty nations, towards Rallylegend as it prepares to celebrate its first twenty years in the best possible way, showcasing this passion for rallying across the ages in its now habitual setting, the Republic of San Marino, on 13-16 October. And a lot of San Marino crews are also embracing their home event, with sixteen San Marino crews already signed up, as well as nine local drivers and co-drivers who will be part of ‘mixed’ crews.
The organisers have just one regret, and that’s that they cannot accept all 230 teams who applied for reasons relating to logistics and the structure of the race.
A RALLYLEGEND 2022 WITH STANDOUT GUESTS IN THE “LEGEND STARS”, MORE LEGENDARY THAN EVER...
The list of top drivers set to attend Rallylegend and take part in the rally, the Legend Stars, the celebrative Parades or the events in Rallylegend Village is extremely long.
World Rally champions from every era will line up for the Legend Stars, pure spectacle without the timekeeping. Names including Walter Rohrl and Christian Geistdorfer together with Markku Alen and Ilkka Kivimaki, with two Lancia 037 Martinis, our Miki Biasion (originally meant to be with Tiziano Siviero, to whom Rallylegend wishes a speedy recovery after he was involved in a serious road incident a few days ago), with a Lancia 037 Totip. The current leader of the 2022 Riders’ World Rally championship, Kalle Rovanpera, who will be at the wheel of a Toyota Celica ST 185 belonging to team Latvala, for a family derby with father Harri Rovanpera, driving a Celica ST 205. The list continues with Jimmy McRae, father of the unforgettable Colin, paired with Nicola Arena, with one of the many beautiful group A Subaru Impreza 555 cars; Swede Per- Gunnar Andersson, who some may remember as a Suzuki SX4 WRC factory driver in 2008, after having won two Junior world titles in 2004 and 2007, and Norwegian Ole Christian Veiby, former Hyundai Motorsport driver in WRC2 in 2020 and 2021. The two Scandinavians will drive powerful rallycross Audi S1 RX cars. There is also a significant Italian and San Marino presence in the Legend Stars. MANY BIG NAMES PREPARE TO RACE AT RALLYLEGEND: JARI-MATTI LATVALA IN THE “CLASSIC”
Countless champions and greats were unable to resist the call of the stopwatch and will be racing at Rallylegend in the three categories of “Historic”, “Classic” (the new name for “Myth”) and “WRC”, which also incorporates the R5, R-GT and Super 1600.
In the “Classic” category, a number of high calibre drivers will battle it out. Names like Jari-Matti Latvala, former World Rally factory driver and now team principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, set to race at Rallylegend with his team’s Toyota Celica St 165. Ready to make his life difficult are Gustavo Trelles, with Jorge Del Buono in a Subaru Legacy, Portuguese driver Rui Madeira, with a Subaru Impreza, “Lucky” Battistolli, with Fabrizia Pons and “Zippo” Zivian, they too with two group A Subaru Imprezas. And keep an eye on fast San Marino driver Marcello Colombini and the two-wheel drive of his BMW M3.

RALLYLEGEND HERITAGE: ELEVEN FOUR-WHEELED GEMS WITH “PEDIGREE”
Taking part in a regularity race are the “Rallylegend Heritage” vehicles, select and rare historic cars that stand out for their mechanics and original liveries and that, this year, date from 1974 to 1981. Also taking to the start line is Sandro Giacomelli, in the Group 4 Fiat 131 Abarth, winner of two previous editions of this category.
DREAM CARS AND DRIVERS IN THE “PARADES” ON SATURDAY 15 AND SUNDAY 16
Taking place around the track of “The Legend” special stage on Saturday and Sunday, the Rallylegend parades are not to be missed. One such parade is reserved for the Lancia 037 as it celebrates forty years since making its race debut, while others will showcase the Lancia Delta, and the Subaru Impreza, with the most important models in its racing history and the Best Imprezas of a project by Carlo Boroli. Many champions will take to the wheels of these marvels, including Juha Kankkunen, Dario Cerrato, Adartico Vudafieri, Andrea Aghini, Andrea Zanussi, Piero Liatti and Formula 1 greats René Arnoux and Arturo Merzario.

The successful race “leader” of Fiat, Lancia and Ferrari F1, Cesare Fiorio will be among the special guests taking part in events in the Rallylegend Village, along with Malcolm Wilson, former World Rally driver and now general manager of the M-Sport team in WRC. The family of the unforgettable Colin Mc Rae will also attend, involved in the Best Impreza project with father Jimmy, mother Margaret, brother Stuart and daughter Hollie, who will also play a part in events at the Village, accompanied by her mother Alison.
