𝗧𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! ✨

Have you ever noticed how some teams have names that sound like they’re straight out of a superhero comic while others stick with “Dev Team”?

Here’s my very own personal take on it (totally not scientific):

𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 0: 𝙉𝙤 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚
I am looking closer at the identification with the team. Do team members have a sense of belonging? 🤷‍♂️

𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 1: 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙤𝙤𝙡
At least they identify (or are identified by others) with their product. 🛠️💡

𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 2: 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚
I have seen teams having great fun with their names - theming and decorating their workspaces accordingly. 🎉

𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 3: 𝘿𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣-𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘
I know teams working in the security space who named their teams after famous security incidents or exploits 🔒💻 – this reflects their dedication to and deep engagement with their field of work.

So, what’s in a name? A lot! 🤩
It can spark pride, camaraderie, and maybe even a little competitive spirit. 🏆🤝

But remember, whether you’re a “Code Crusader” or just “Team 1,” it’s the collaboration and results that truly matter.

Boss 👔: "Hey, we are doing Scrum now, who wants to be the Scrum Master?"
Dev 👩‍💻: "Sure, what's the deal?"
Boss 👔: "Nothing major, just circulate some meeting invites and moderate as necessary."

I imagine some Scrum Masters and the expectations around it have happened similarly when I talk to some managers and teams.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲:

This question is on many people's minds post-pandemic. But does remote work?

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗬𝗘𝗦! ✅

Longer answer: Agilistas was founded remotely by Anna and myself. We're used to working with Anna traveling or living abroad for months.
𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 & 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 are key. Transparency, collaboration, and regular check-ins are necessary for successful remote work.

Our customers benefit from increased flexibility and reduced costs (e.g., no travel costs, no commute time). 💼💰

The pic shows a rare in-person meeting between Anna and me. Despite living within reasonable travel distance now, we still choose to operate remotely. 🏠💻

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙢 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚𝙨! 🚀

Another Scrum Master training has come to a close, but what an incredible journey it's been! 🚀 I'm so proud of all the attendees and the progress they've made over the past few weeks. 👏

"𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲; 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀."

🙌 And that's exactly what we focused on - equipping these Scrum Masters with the practical skills and knowledge they need to thrive.
They're now ready to take on the PSM I exam. But that is merely a side product. More importantly, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹. 💪

What a year it's been! When we started this agile consultancy company, we knew it would be a strenuous journey, but little did we know how rewarding it would be. From sleepless nights to eureka moments, it's been a wild ride!

One of the best parts of this journey has been the amazing people I've had the privilege of meeting. Clients, collaborators, peers, industry experts, ... This vibrant community has provided invaluable support, camaraderie, and inspiration.

𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗼, 𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀! 🤠🧱

As Chuck Norris wasn't on our team but our imagined customer, we had to build LEGO ourselves - seriously! 🧱

Our team was tasked with building the ultimate Lego university, under the watchful eye of our Product Owner Larisa-Mădălina Manciu and the Game Master Sabrina Meinhart

What made this event truly special was the team I had the pleasure of working with. They were a constant source of creativity, collaboration, and most importantly, fun! 🤩 Shout out to Manuel Pöll, Romina Jonuzaj, Oswaldo, Jürgen, Richa and Tanya.

Curiosity, continuous learning, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected - that's the name of the game. 🧠
