The effects of loneliness are shocking - it has the same health risks as smoking 15 ci******es a day!! (->HRSA study)

Multiple studies have shown that when people feel excluded or marginalised, it can lead to feelings of loneliness and disconnection within the workplace.

When coworkers feel lonely, they withdraw from social events and stop interacting with their colleagues. This can lead, ultimately, to disengagement from work and other expensive consequences. Companies must prioritise efforts to create a more inclusive and supportive workplace environment.

Including team-building and group coaching, there are so many approaches to ensure the well-being of employees. Not only does it lead to better retention rates, but it also creates a positive and productive work culture.

Ich habe etliche E-Mails erhalten, in denen ich um Tipps gebeten wurde, wie man mit Unconscious Bias umgehen kann.

Ich fasse kurz zusammen, wie jeder dazu beitragen kann, Vorurteilen entgegenzuwirken, indem man sich die Frage stellt:

-> Warum ist es eigentlich wichtig, Unconscious Biases zu bekämpfen?
(Sich über das Thema unbewusste beziehungsweise implizite Voreingenommenheit informieren)

->Warum sind Stereotypen potenziell negativ? z.B.: Werbung, die einen Mann herabwürdigt, weil er eine stereotype weibliche Rolle einnimmt.
(Beobachten, wie Stereotypen in den Medien verstärkt werden.)

-> Wie weise ich darauf hin, dass die Person voreingenommen ist, ohne ihr Verhalten als Charakterschwäche darzustellen?
(Auf voreingenommene Verhaltensweisen hinweisen, wenn du sie beobachtest.)

-> Wie divers ist mein soziales Umfeld?
(Mehr Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Background und Perspektiven in dein persönliches Netzwerk einladen.)

Und mein persönliches Anliegen:
-> Auf deine Reaktionen achten, die du hast, wenn du jemand Neues kennenlernst. z.B.: "Du solltest Rita Isiba kennenlernen, ihr werdet euch wirklich gut verstehen..." (andere Person ist auch dunkelhäutig).

Ich hoffe, die Fragen und das Beispiel tragen dazu bei, dass du besser verstehst, wie du bekämpfen kannst. Es ist ein ständiger , mit unbewussten Vorurteilen umzugehen. Leider gibt es keine schnelle Lösung.

Over the years, I’ve researched and applied tactics that keep audiences engaged. What I’ve learned is that four key elements largely determine your success in engaging the audience:

1) Engage with content:
Deliver useful information to maximise the value of attending your event and ensure your audience has an important message or learning to take away.

2) Engage with each other:
Many professionals attend corporate events to expand their network. You can ensure a worthy experience for your attendees by facilitating networking opportunities tailored to their different personas.

3) Engage with sponsors:
This one is tough. Your sponsors tend to look for real connections with the right kind of attendees, so you need to do everything in your social and monetary power to make this hookup happen.

4) Engage with you:
You’re the main point of contact. You have to effectively communicate with your attendees — whether you’re promoting, consulting or handling the logistics.

These four elements of attendee engagement impact the audiences’ ability to make meaningful connections, retain valuable information and have fun. Follow these steps!

I'm not going to lie - Life as a working parent is more brutal than I thought.

Without a support system, there is NO way I would have managed my business, relationships and health.

My mother made it look soooo easy. She juggled two jobs and raised my three siblings and me to be confident yet kind-hearted individuals.

Me? I moan and complain when the opportunity arises. And, I am raising "only" one child.

I'd crumble if it weren't for the great people surrounding me.
Whether they are employed or run a business; or have children or not, these incredible individuals constantly share helpful tips and tricks on integrating and balancing life with work.
