Water is one of the most valuable resources farmers manage every day, and no longer just another input in agriculture. In regions where water efficiency directly impacts productivity, irrigation is no longer just about supplying water, but about managing it intelligently.

Because the challenge is not simply delivering water to crops, but delivering the right amount, at the right time, based on real field conditions.💡And that's where technology makes a difference.

In this project in Azerbaijan, IBC Irrigation Systems implemented an irrigation system designed to help growers use water more efficiently while supporting healthy crop development. Together with weather monitoring and forecasting technologies such as METOS weather stations provided by METOS Turkey, farmers can make more informed irrigation decisions and optimize resource use.

Pessl Instruments is proud to support climate-smart agriculture initiatives in Pakistan in collaboration with our local partner, Dar-Es-Salaam Farms, and the NRSP - National Rural Support Programme.

Under this initiative, two agrometeorological stations were formally presented to NRSP during a special reception hosted at the Austrian Embassy in Islamabad on 13 May 2026.

The event marked a continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Dar-Es-Salaam Farms and Pessl Instruments in Vienna in February 2026, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Today, climate change is no longer a future challenge for Pakistan. It is already impacting rainfall patterns, pest pressure, heat stress, water availability, and ultimately the livelihoods of farming communities.

This is why our partnership with NRSP is so important. With outreach to approximately 4.7 million rural households, NRSP’s presence across rural Pakistan provides an opportunity to move beyond isolated deployments and toward scalable impact - making advanced agricultural technologies more accessible to smallholder farmers.

Together with our partners Dar-Es-Salaam Farms and NRSP, we look forward to advancing climate intelligence and data-driven agriculture for farming communities across Pakistan.

We are also proud that this partnership represents a meaningful example of Austria–Pakistan collaboration in innovation, sustainability, and climate-smart agriculture.
