Denis, you will be truly missed. RIP friend.

Dear Friends,
It is with the greatest sadness that today we have to announce the passing of our dearest friend and esteemed colleague Denis O’Brien.
Starting his Concierge career in Eyre Square in Galway, Denis graced the foyers of The Central Hotel in Dublin and Druids Glen, before achieving the position he was always destined for, Head Concierge at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. There, he established himself as the most sought out and recognisable Concierge on the island of Ireland with guests from across the globe loving his personality, professionalism and charm, consistently coming back for more. Denis wore the prestigious Golden Keys of his beloved Clefs d’Or with immense pride and ambition which would eventually lead to him placing our tiny Island firmly on the Clefs d’Or map by becoming International President, a feat not achieved before or since. To us, his friends and colleagues, he was a mentor, leader, trailblazer, confidant, wind up merchant and best friend, someone who inspired and to whom we aspired to be like. Denis would always say, “family first” never, at times such as these, is that more true. To Siobhan, Cathal and the extended O’Brien family circle, you are in our hearts and prayers at this most difficult time.
The O’Brien family have lost their Denis. Clefs d’Or has lost a leader and Irish hospitality has lost an icon but his legacy is with the guests who have left Ireland having experienced the care and attention of one of our great ambassadors. RIP our dear friend.
