Together with a group of student volunteers at Vienna University of Economics and Business, we have compiled useful information for new arrivals in Vienna. Although this guide has a special focus on new arrivals from Ukraine, we hope some of the information will also be helpful for individuals who are fleeing other countries 🌍 🕊️

The guide provides information about administrative must-dos upon arrival in Vienna, as well as explanations of available accommodation options, food, transport, telecommunication and banking, among others. There is also information about working in Austria and Vienna, education, language courses and leisure options. It is available in English and Ukrainian, and a Russian version will be published soon.

The 5 CEMS Alumni panelists Marita Sanchez de la Cerda, Christoph Hornik, Viktor Penzinger, Carlos Rodrigues and Felix Staeritz joined us for an insightful, honest and inspiring evening! Finally, our CEMSies were able to enjoy the "Vienna Week", which is usually held in the beginning of the semester. Even though the special circumstances required us to reschedule the events multiple times, the long-awaited events were definitely worth waiting! 🤩

The Vienna week highlights included a yoga session 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♂️ in Prater park, accompanied with a great weather; the legendary CEMS event running cocktails 🍹, this time with a Great Gatsby theme; a visit to a traditional Viennese coffeehouse ☕ followed by a Scavenger hunt; and last but not least, a wine hike at Nussdorf 🍷🍇

The cohort wants to thank Jette, Antonio and Veronika - the heads of the social, sports and culture teams - for putting a lot of effort on organising safe and fun events for the entire cohort!🎉

We’ve all heard about meditation - but have you ever tried to meditate?

This week, the Fundraiser Month continued with another event when the CEMSies had an opportunity to try meditation! The USYD Professor Sabina Nielsen gave us in-depth insights into why meditation is important, especially as a business student - and how you can start!

The event included a 15-minute-long guided meditation which offered an opportunity to relax and focus in the middle of these busy days. 🧘

Got interested in meditation? Check out Sabina’s website https://sabinadreams.wordpress.com and register for free a 30-day-meditation course guided by professor Sabina! 🔥

In this discussion, we had four panelists from Google, Salesforce, Quora and Cisco who talked about working in the technology industry. The panelists shared different insights about their background and what brought them to the tech industry, what kind of general responsibilities they have in their roles, and what kind of company cultures they have experienced in the different organizations. Moreover, the panelists offered valuable career advice for people interested in working in the tech industry.

A big thank you to the panelists and participants! 😊
