A look back at NoVacancy 2026 this September in Sydney.

It was a brilliant (and busy) couple of days for the Richard Jay and Symbio teams. We loved catching up with familiar faces and meeting people from throughout the hotel and accommodation industry.

Our stand showcased the latest commercial laundry equipment from LG Global and Electrolux Professional, along with Symbio’s chemicals and dispensing systems for laundry, food service, handcare and housekeeping.

Thanks again to everyone who dropped by for a chat, and to our teams and the NoVacancy organisers for the fantastic event.

Thinking about opening a laundromat? One of the first questions to answer is what your space can support.

At Richard Jay, we work with you from the early planning stages to develop the layout and technical information your project needs. Depending on the project, our team can assist with:

→ A floor plan suited to your space, workflow and proposed equipment
→ Professional 3D renders you can show your landlord, bank or business partner
→ Service plans and data sheets covering gas, electrical, water and waste requirements
→ Hydraulic drawings, lint trap supplier contacts and connections with relevant trades

This gives your trades the information they need to quote the works and prepare for installation.

Once your laundromat is up and running, our team is there to support you with parts, servicing, preventative maintenance and future equipment needs.

If you’re exploring a laundromat project, get in touch with our team to discuss your plans.

We’re at NoVacancy for its final day at ICC Sydney.

Here’s Scott from the Richard Jay team, giving us a closer look at the new compact Electrolux Professional Generation 7000 washer and dryer stack on display.

Visit us at stand 1116 to see it in person and meet the Richard Jay and Symbio Australia teams.

We’d be happy to talk you through the latest commercial laundry technology and your property’s requirements.

When equipment breaks down, it can affect capacity, disrupt workflows and make it harder to maintain consistent wash and hygiene outcomes.

That’s where Richard Jay Ready can help.

Richard Jay Ready is the new name for our Preventative Maintenance Agreement.

Through scheduled preventative maintenance, it helps reduce the risk of unexpected downtime and supports consistent performance.

Each agreement is tailored to your operation, based on the equipment covered, how it’s used, and the level of preventative maintenance required.

Have a question about Ready or how it could support your operation? Reach out to our team: https://www.richardjay.com.au/contact-us/

In 2014, Orange Sky Australia's founders Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett launched the world’s first free mobile laundry service.

Richard Jay came on board as a founding partner, helping supply the machinery and dispensing systems for the very first van.

More than a decade on, Orange Sky is providing free laundry, warm showers and genuine connection in communities across Australia.

Their July update shows how far the service has come.

From April to June 2026, Orange Sky delivered 36,582 washes and 2,386 showers across 66 locations. Volunteers also shared more than 40,000 hours of conversation with people doing it tough.

That’s an incredible contribution from everyone involved.

We’re proud to continue supporting Orange Sky with commercial laundry machinery and dispensing equipment.

Laundra Laundromat came to us with a simple brief: deliver the best performance with the lowest lifecycle cost.

Delivering that within a shop measuring just 4.3 metres wide meant making careful use of the available space.

So, we worked closely with Laundra at every step of the build, bringing the latest Electrolux Professional equipment and technology into a fitout designed for reliable, efficient operation – and lower long-term running costs.

The laundromat features washers and dryers in a range of capacities, plus dedicated machines for pet items.

With its warm finishes and day-spa-like feel, it’s a beautiful addition to the Silverdale Shopping Village.

Congratulations to Amber and the Laundra team. We’re proud to have supported you throughout this exciting project.

1,673. That’s how many coin and cashless laundromats are now operating across Australia, and that number is still climbing.

Growth like that doesn’t happen by accident. It’s being driven by:
- modern self-service options
- convenience
- contactless payments
- faster, higher capacity washing and drying.

Whether you’re entering the market or scaling an existing site, Richard Jay has the equipment, technology and support to get you there.

From premium global brands like Electrolux Professional to the latest payment technology and chemical dispensing systems, we help investors build laundry operations that are efficient, reliable and profitable, from the ground up.
