This morning's meeting at the Seacliff Hotel started with some myth busting. Sarah Milne from Beger & Co Lawyers ran an interactive session on wills, working through what a will covers, what it doesn't, and who actually needs one. (hint for those playing along at home - the short answer is everyone!) Sarah made a topic that many of us put off feel much more approachable, and I know I'm planning a review of my will soon!
Adam Peach from Peachtree Advisory followed with an education session on measuring what matters, whether that's in life, in business, or anywhere else you're chasing a goal. He explained the difference between lag indicators, which tell you how you went, and lead indicators, which you can influence week to week. His advice was simple: set the lag, then manage the lead. It's an idea I'll be carrying into my own week.
We also welcomed two visitors. Jack Rowe from Belle Property Glenelg and Russell Dent from RD Plumbing Solutions joined us, and we're glad you both came along. Thank you for being part of the morning.
We celebrated Caitlyn O'neil's third year as a Coastal BNI member - What you bring to the room is a real credit to you and your work, and we're proud to have you in our chapter!
For me, it was my first meeting as President, and I'm pleased to say our new Leadership Team is now off and running! It's a relief to have that first meeting done, and I'm looking forward to settling into the role and finding my feet.
If you run a business or work in the Seacliff or Brighton area and want to see how our chapter works, come along any Tuesday at 7:45am at the Seacliff Hotel. Visitors are always welcome. You can find out more here: https://bnisas.com.au/bni-coastal-brighton/
