Working with a major telecommunications partner, our team recently mobilised from Adelaide to Laverton, near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, after the client specifically requested our experience in delivering complex remote projects.

DHA completed more than 250 km of Telecommunication line-of-sight surveys through some incredibly remote and challenging country.

The work involved dual-end pilots, illuminated drone midpoint checks and extensive 4WD travel to verify connectivity from Laverton through to the proposed new telecommunications site.

This was one of the longest and most challenging line-of-sight projects our team has undertaken, ever. Each day required us to mobilise from Laverton, navigate difficult terrain, complete the required survey and return safely—often after a very long day in the field.

Our team nailed the operation and delivered high-quality survey reports, imagery and field content to support the client’s network planning.

A challenging project, an incredible part of Australia and another great result delivered by the Drone Hire Australia team.

The past few months have been absolutely insane—in the best possible way!
Our Brisbane team, Joseph and Alex, have been working alongside the team at Zeitview to inspect 166 wind turbines.
Across South Australia, we’ve also been partnering with engineering companies to deliver complete inspection solutions at mine sites. These projects require extensive training and careful alignment with each site’s safety and operational requirements.
We’ve also continued inspecting confined spaces using the Elios 3 and UT/NDT payload, helping clients access areas that would otherwise be difficult or dangerous to inspect.
This week, one team continues with turbine inspections while another SA crew heads to Kalgoorlie, WA to complete more than 240 km of communications dish-path surveys across four approximately 60 km links. It’s going to be another huge week!
Behind the scenes, I’ve been busy with safety systems, tenders, recruitment and meeting talented people locally as we continue growing the team. It has kept me away from LinkedIn, but I always enjoy catching up with our clients and everyone who continues to support Drone Hire Australia.
I’m incredibly grateful to our team and clients. Thank you again!

What a crazy month at Drone Hire Australia!

The team has been flat out across multiple states, continuing to deliver projects for our clients.

Our wind team has been busy undertaking wind turbine inspections across both Victoria and South Australia,

At the same time, another crew headed to the Hunter Valley to complete numerous Line of Sight (LoS) surveys for telecommunications clients,

We're also excited to welcome the newest addition to the DHA fleet — our Chasing M2 MAX ROV. Over the past few weeks, the system has already been deployed on inspections of water treatment plant assets across SA and has been doing alot of testing. It's been great to see the capabilities this technology brings to our service offering, allowing us to safely inspect submerged assets.

It's been a huge month for the team, and we're looking forward to what the next few months have in store as we continue to expand our services.

Thanks so much for the support :)

Sub-zero temps, snow on the ground, and the work still gets done.

Our team is still out in the field inspecting wind turbine blades; unfortunately, they didn't feel the cold.

It’s not always the polished drone shots you see from us — it’s frozen hands, rough weather, early starts, and staying focused when the wind picks up.

Over 200+ turbines have been completed so far this year across multiple sites and states. Big effort from the team keeping projects moving through winter. Thanks to our amazing clients for the support!

Another crazy month for the Drone Hire Australia team.

A huge thank you to our amazing clients for the continued support. Over the past few weeks, our team has been working in Brisbane, inspecting more than 133 wind turbines, and we are now heading down through NSW to complete further wind farm inspections.

At the same time, our SA team has been busy locally completing surveys and audit work across 12 sites from Mount Gambier through to Whyalla.

We have also been conducting line-of-sight surveys in NSW and continuing to use our specialised drone systems for algal bloom water testing.

There are a few exciting projects underway with clients, and some amazing opportunities in the pipeline.

With another 120+ turbines still to complete across NSW, VIC and SA during May, it has been a huge effort from everyone involved.

Thanks again for the support — it has been a crazy but exciting period for DHA.

Another cracking month for the team at Drone Hire Australia.

February/March has been full throttle.

This month alone, we successfully completed inspections of 120 wind turbines and over 90 hub inspections in a three-week period. The East Coast weather slowed us down a little with some inconsistent conditions, but the team pushed through.

Last week, our Brisbane crew flew into Canberra to support the final push and help wrap up the remaining turbines. One thing we always focus on as a business is having backup capability when things get long, or conditions change — making sure the crews are supported, and projects stay on track.

This week we’re mobilising again, with teams working across the country:

WA: Site design visits across 12 locations from Perth to Esperance and up to Port Hedland
NSW: Another 16 telecom sites underway
BHP: A separate inspection team will mobilise next week for operations on site

Despite not yet holding BARS accreditation, we’ve successfully met the on-site requirements for several of these operations, which has been great progress for the team.

Alongside field work, it’s also been a huge month behind the scenes with quoting, compliance documentation, and continued strengthening of our safety systems.

We’ve also continued our algal bloom monitoring program using the DJI M350, although that contract has slowed recently due to positive water quality results across the coast — which is great news environmentally.

It’s been a crazy Feb/March, but we’re proud of the team effort and looking forward to what next month brings.

While the new DHA utes are rolling out and being refined under design, they’ve already been hard at work across SA.

This month alone, our team has:

-Deployed Unit 2 to wind farms — already completing 90+ turbines this year.
-Completed stockpile surveys through Salt Creek SA
-Delivered mapping Survey and support for Integrated Waste Sites in SA
-Mapped multiple sites for a large asphalt provider across SA
-Surveyed and captured imagery for 50+ silos across Ceduna and Ardrossan

At the same time, Unit 1/3 continues weekly algal testing from Waipinga through to Hallett Cove, SA, covering 6 active monitoring sites.

And we’re not slowing down.

It’s been a huge start to the year — proud of the team for delivering across renewables, telecom, environmental monitoring and civil sectors all at once.

Grateful? Absolutely.

Ready for what’s next? Always.

Over the past few months, I’ve been doing some serious thinking about where I see Drone Hire Australia heading.

Whenever I step back like that, it usually means one thing — change is coming.

A lot of that change has come directly from feedback from our pilots in the field. The team is doing long days. The remote jobs. The off-road travel. The volume inspections. They know what makes operations smoother, safer and more efficient — and DHA listens.

Behind the scenes, our team has been working closely with a local South Australian manufacturer to develop what we believe is the perfect drone operations vehicle for long-distance and high-volume inspection work.

We didn’t just fit out a ute.

We engineered a mobile drone operations hub.

Across silo inspections, stockpile surveys, infrastructure and remote asset work, these three new DHA vehicles are already on the road nationally. Getting them all together for a photoshoot was nearly impossible.

Each vehicle is identically built and purpose-designed for aviation operations, including:

• Dual battery systems

• Full canopy fit-outs with dedicated drone mounting

• Inverters and solar charging systems

• Rear lift kits and off-road capability

• Beacon lighting, bull bars, CB radios and spotlights

• Integrated LED lighting for night operations

• Permanently mounted Starlink for live data upload in the field

• Full safety and communications redundancy for regional and off-grid work

Our crews regularly operate in remote locations without coverage. Safety, connectivity.

These vehicles are built for volume inspections, rapid mobilisation and consistent national delivery. And most importantly, they make life easier for the pilots on the ground.

I’m incredibly proud of our crew for driving this development.

You’ll start seeing these DHA vehicles across Australia on wind farms, quarries, infrastructure corridors and industrial sites.

If you spot one on the road — give us a wave.

And to our clients — thank you for trusting a small Australian business that’s focused on doing things properly, safely, and at scale.

Great to see the crews back out on the wind farms this month, keeping turbine inspections moving and delivering solid outcomes for our clients.

Always proud of the way the team operates — safely, efficiently, and with a strong focus on quality, even with the early starts and long drives.

Thanks to our clients for the continued trust and support. Big year ahead!

Another huge month for our team.

I’ve been pretty quiet on LinkedIn in December — sometimes that’s what’s required when the focus needs to be firmly on delivering for clients.
This month, we completed inspections across five solar farms in the NT, delivered algal testing, and inspected 88 wind turbines, all while remaining on call. Alongside this, our team personally trained three additional pilots on our ReOC to support oil spill emergency response operations in Vic-WA.

Our crews are currently supporting an engineering comapny with large-scale asset-building inspections in SA, and we were proud to assist Trendspek in Adelaide, providing spotting services for six days on a highly complex operation.

Next week, the team heads to Olympic Dam, while continuing to cover 2,400+ km per month, conducting surveys and collecting water samples for government algal monitoring projects.

It’s incredible to see the team pushing hard right through the final stretch of the year.

A massive thank you to all our clients and partners for your continued support in 2025
