A great night with our team, supporting a cause close to our hearts. ๐Ÿ’›

Total Support Services was proud to be the major sponsor of the SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY Ball on Saturday night!

We loved the chance to get dressed up and enjoy the evening together. Most of all, we were glad to support Stay ChatTYโ€™s work encouraging conversations about mental health and reminding people itโ€™s okay to ask for help.

Helping people feel connected, included and supported is a big part of our everyday workโ€”with participants, families and our own team. Thatโ€™s why this cause means so much to us.

A huge thank you to Mitch McPherson and everyone at Stay ChatTY for bringing us together. Here are a few moments from the night! ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’›

Amelia Kent, our Allied Health Lead and Neurodiversity Affirming Specialist Behaviour Practitioner, is attending NeuroBoxโ€™s Sensory Play & Carer Breakaway Day today.

Amelia is looking forward to catching up with participants and families she already knows, meeting new people, and connecting with others who share an interest in inclusive, neuroaffirming support.

The free event offers sensory play, interactive activities and a space for carers to take a break and connect. If youโ€™re coming along, please stop by and say hello to Amelia. Sheโ€™d love to meet you.

๐ŸŒŸ Meet Gabrielle Currie-Eastley โ€“ Accommodation Manager (Tasmania).

Working closely with participants, families, employees and external stakeholders, Gabrielle leads and mentors support teams, coordinates operational requirements and responds to complex support needs.

Her focus is on creating supportive environments where participants feel valued and empowered to achieve their goals, build independence and live fulfilling lives.

โ€œI love being part of peopleโ€™s lives and getting to know each person for who they are. Supporting participants is about building trust, celebrating the little wins and being there through the challenges. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone achieve something they once thought they couldnโ€™t and knowing you played a small part in their journey.โ€

Every personโ€™s journey is different, and meaningful progress should always be defined by the person themselves.

With written consent, we are pleased to share part of Anthonyโ€™s journey.

Anthonyโ€™s goal was to further explore and develop his passion for music, building on his love of singing, piano, musical theatre, and musical performance.

Working alongside Anthony, his family, and relevant supports, the Total Support Services team focused on providing opportunities to strengthen his musical knowledge and skills while encouraging confidence, self-expression, and continued learning in a way that reflected his interests and aspirations.

Throughout his sessions, Anthony demonstrated a strong natural aptitude for music. He showed highly developed listening skills, accurately identifying pitches and musical intervals by ear, recognising relationships between notes, and learning melodies through listening. Alongside these strengths, he worked through a range of piano fundamentals, including posture, hand positioning, scales, and the four primary triad types: major, minor, diminished, and augmented, applying new concepts with impressive understanding.

What mattered most was that Anthony remained at the centre of the experience. His enthusiasm for music guided the direction of learning, and his curiosity, determination, and willingness to challenge himself shaped the progress he made. His strong communication skills, positive attitude, and passion for learning contributed to a highly successful experience that highlighted both his existing strengths and his ongoing potential for growth as a musician.

Thank you to Anthony and his family for allowing us to share this story.
