If you’re wondering why you’re having full conversations with yourself, let me reassure you. That’s not unhinged behaviour. That’s leadership under pressure.

When you run a business, you are the decision maker, the admin department, the problem solver, the reminder system and the person who remembers where everything lives. Of course you’re talking it through out loud. Your brain is running a team meeting because no one else is in the room.

From the outside it might look like chaos. From the inside it’s you trying to keep everything moving while holding the whole business in your head.

And here’s the thing I see every day as a VA. Those “staff meetings” with yourself usually mean you’re overdue for support, not failing at business.

You don’t need to work harder or think faster. You need space to stop carrying every role at once.

So yes, talk it out if you need to. But also know there’s a version of business where you’re not the entire team anymore. And it feels a whole lot quieter upstairs.
