We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Dr Ana Kuusk has been named the winner of the Engineering category at the 2025 Women in Innovation Awards in South Australia – a well-deserved recognition of a career (so far) defined by excellence, impact and generosity.

Ana’s work sits at the cutting edge of industrial AI, bridging IT/OT data to transform the way critical infrastructure operates across Australia and beyond. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping The Garage – Secora’s industrial AI capability – and her technical expertise is unmatched in her field. But just as remarkable is her dedication to developing others. Ana has mentored and coached countless emerging engineers, data scientists and innovators, sparking curiosity, confidence and creativity in STEM.

For those of us who work alongside Ana, her recognition comes as no surprise. She leads with intellect, integrity and empathy, bringing out the best in her teams and constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Congratulations, Ana – this is a moment to celebrate your extraordinary achievements and the example you set for future innovators. The entire Secora team couldn’t be prouder.

Adelaide was buzzing last night – not just with Metallica in town, but with the energy of innovators and industry professionals at the Industrial AI After Hours event, hosted by Secora Garage at the Gallery.

The evening brought together members of the local tech engineering community, academia and government to explore practical applications of AI across industries. Discussions ranged from how to deploy AI safely and efficiently to what’s next in data analytics platforms on edge devices in critical infrastructure environments.

Our guest, AICRAFT, shared a series of live demonstrations showcasing their approach to real-time processing, radar mapping and video analytics in action. Their examples added valuable context to the discussions around where Industrial AI is headed and how it can be applied on the ground.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a relaxed night of learning and conversation around ‘how to AI’. Events like this are all about connecting ideas, people and possibilities – and we’re looking forward to continuing the conversation and building the South Australian Industrial AI community. See you in 2026!

It’s been a big week in Sydney for Team Secora with our leadership team connecting around strategy and plans for the year ahead, along with our data expert Ana Kuusk speaking as part of a panel at the Digital Built Worlds Summit 2025.

There was also a sneaky birthday cake for David Walter, our Executive Director – Innovation & Strategy... however the sugar hit was balanced with some 'active meeting' time amongst the team with morning walk & talks around the Harbour city.

Season’s Greetings from Secora

As 2024 comes to a close, all of us at Secora extend our warmest wishes for a joyful festive season and a prosperous 2025.

This year has been a whirlwind of activity, growth, and achievement. From deepening our expertise in AI and machine learning to delivering innovative solutions in the mining and utilities sectors, 2024 has been a year of progress and collaboration.

We celebrated significant milestones, including the successful phase-in of RMC North in Darwin—an accomplishment that earned commendations for its precision and teamwork. Our team also attended transformative events such as the Microsoft AI Tour, IMARC and MAINSTREAM in Melbourne, showcasing our commitment to innovation and excellence while connecting and learning on both national and international stages.

Internally, we launched the HART of Secora Awards to honour acts of mateship and courage. Congratulations to our inaugural recipients: Mick Reichardt, Frank Barresi, and Paul Gray. More recently, we presented an award to long-standing team member Jenna Shenton, who exemplifies our HART values through her dedication and client-centric approach.

Secora’s expertise was also on display this year, with our very own Dr Ana Kuusk presenting at multiple industry events, highlighting our leadership in digital twin capabilities and data integration for asset management.

Beyond our technical achievements, this year has been filled with meaningful moments — team events and communications both online and in-person, workshops, opening our Brisbane office and the gathering of footage and interviews for the creation of new corporate videos set to debut in 2025. We also embraced opportunities to connect, learn, and strengthen relationships across the industry.

As always, our success is built on the hard work and commitment of our exceptional team, the support of our clients, and the collaboration of our partners.

We’ll be taking a well-earned break from 5pm on Friday, 20 December, and returning refreshed on Monday, 6 January 2025.

Thank you for being part of our journey this year. We look forward to another exciting chapter in 2025. Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, happy, and relaxing holiday season!

Ahead of this Anzac Day, we wanted to send a message of thanks and acknowledgement to those among us who have served in the Australian (and New Zealand) Defence Forces. We have quite a number of colleagues here at Secora who have dedicated themselves to service. We thank them, and we are deeply proud to have them as part of our team.

As we reflect upon the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families, we extend our gratitude for their courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty. And we appreciate each of our team members for bringing those values to their work life with us at Secora.

As we commemorate this Anzac Day, let us remember the spirit of unity, resilience, and mateship that defines the Anzac legacy. Together, we stand in solidarity with all those who have served, and we pledge to uphold the values of service, sacrifice, and remembrance.

Working with the team from HILL to AIR, Secora kicked off filming this morning to begin capturing interviews and video footage for the development of new company videos.

The first members of the team to be seated in the interview chair were a couple of members of our Executive Leadership team: David Walter, Jonathon Gregor, and our Managing Director, John Grout. Big thanks to Trent Hilaire, Lachlan and Colin for making the team feel comfortable, and even taking care of shiny foreheads!

The interviews and footage gathering will continue in other locations with our team over the coming months... but they might not get a setting quite so pretty as this one, nor with a resident doggo to supervise proceedings!

Season’s greetings from all of us here at Secora.

It’s been another big year for us right up to the finish line. We’ve ended the year on a high with the recent announcement of Norsta-North being awarded the Regional Maintenance Provider contract, to support the sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy fleet based out of Darwin. This adds to our collaboration in the Norsta-North East team based out of Cairns, and we are excited to see our work in this area for Defence continue and grow.

The wheels have been in motion for new projects in the mining sector, including the commencement of an exciting asset management process improvement job, along with securing more innovative technology projects with practical application of AI and machine learning.

We attended conferences across the country, and also went offshore to Jakarta for Mining Indonesia 2023 as part of the Australian, and specifically NSW, delegation. Secora was selected amongst a cohort of 12 NSW businesses to participate in Investment NSW’s Going Global Export Program in Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) to Indonesia.

We were a finalist at the Australian Defence Industry Awards in the company category of Defence Innovator of the Year. While we didn’t take away the win we were thrilled to be named a finalist in such esteemed company.

Internally, our team once again stepped it up to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy during ‘Steptember’. Across the country there were team planning sessions, photo shoots, team meetings and a little socialising as well. And of course, a lot of onsite work with our team members travelling to hubs and client sites in a range of both city and regional locations across four states and territories!

We thank our team for their commitment and dedication, and for their flexibility in taking on projects, travelling wherever needed and using their expertise to add value to our clients and work initiatives.

Finally, we thank our clients, partners and collaborators for an exceptional year.

From all of us at team Secora we wish you a safe and happy festive season. We look forward to working with you all in 2024, which is once again looking like another exciting and busy year.

Proud to be a part of team NORSTA - North in extending the delivery of maintenance for Navy vessels in the Top End, supporting Defence’s national approach to sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy fleet.

It was announced this week that NORSTA North was awarded the Regional Maintenance Provider contract to deliver a strategically important defence maintenance hub, known as RMC North, located in Darwin.

The five-year $150 million contract is expected to create up to 37 direct defence industry jobs. The contract will also support a broader industrial ship repair workforce of approximately 56 people in the region.

We have our team on the ground ready to set sail as part of this initiative!
