I would never have been able to predict it. A number of years ago I would be working for myself and meet participants that are just down right Amazing!

To my delight and surprise, it struck me suddenly: all my clients, they were all friends. Good friends. Family!

From hindsight I can see clearly how it happened. By being myself with people who happened to be clients, people were able to enjoy me for who I am. I enjoy my work and share a lot of laughs with them. We eat together and do all sorts of thing together. I want to help! Help make them happy and successful.

Yesterday we got to go watch the boys, port adelaide football club train and capture this beautiful photo with Robbie Gray! What’s even more awesome I cleverly contacted port adelaide a few weeks ago and got special tickets to go on the oval while the boys warms up before the showdown tomorrow night! We are very excited to say the least 🤩

Mothers love wins ❣️

NDIS is an incredible scheme giving life changing opportunities for Australians living with disabilities, to get the supports needed to engage and participate fully in the community.

The down fall… the system is incrediblely difficult too… this is such a big problem! The first step in solving a problem is to recognise that it exists!

When the NDIS - which is a lifeline for people like my severely disabled daughter - hires lawyers to fight mothers trying to get support for their children with a disability, you know the system is broken.

Today is the day of celebrating the beauty of mothers and motherhood… Their presence in our lives is the biggest blessing….. Let us be thankful for sending such lovely angels in our lives who love us and protect us through thick and thin.

I wanted to share the inspiration behind iCare SA logo, getting the right logo designed was really important to me as I wanted it to reflect my personality into my business and the importance of how I see the community/ the world.

iCare SA logo is a commonly known symbol, inspired from the Yin-Yang, first initial thoughts would be:

of course, Balance is important and this is essentially the brief definition of it... but it's so much deeper!

Being and non-being produce each other.
Difficult and easy complement each other.
Long and short define each other.
High and low oppose each other.
Fore and aft follow each other.

Yin and Yang are in everything, and most things are a little bit of both. the two complementary forces that make up all aspects and phenomena of life

To me, whenever I meet someone whether in a professional situation or not, I see it the same, we are two halves that together complete wholeness.

iCare SA has a participant in need of an assistance dog and we are all very excited to meet the assistance puppy in training!

Canine Assist, Life Saving Life Changing Dogs are incredible bunch.

Their dogs are Life Saving and Life Changing and help with conditions such as:
-Autism
-PTSD
-Self Harm or Suicidal Tendencies
-Dementia
-Diabetes
-Mobility
-Hearing
-Seizure Alert
and Much Much More

SUPPORT WORKER

Looking for work? Do you have disability experience? Are you kind, compassionate and patient?

Looking for a support worker / mentor for a 19 year old boy with ASD.

Preferably looking for a male role model, however, not necessary. Someone who can teach this young man independence such as cooking, cleaning, social interaction, shopping and getting him involved with the community.

For This Role, You Will:

Be providing 1:1 support

Be providing transport in your vehicle

Be planning meals or eating out, facilitating road/day trips, meaningful activities, and enjoyable experiences.

Some skill building may be involved (meal planning, shopping, money handling, personal care support etc.).

Be responsible for ensuring that our client is being supported to the highest standard.

Be ensuring that the correct documentation is taken and recorded.

Be able to work independently.

Be able to demonstrate initiative.

Be able to demonstrate commitment to empowering people with disabilities.

Be able to handle complex or challenging situations calmly and rationally.

Have experience working closely with participants, their families and other staff to create and implement day to day schedules that meet all aspects of participants social, emotional, physical, vocational and financial needs and goals.

Let me introduce myself and the face behind iCare SA!

My name is Rosina and my company is a 'Service Provider' for NDIS Clients. The National Disability Insurance Scheme provides funding to Australians who are aged under 65 years and who live with particular types of disability.

What is a service provider? I deliver supports and services to participants so they can pursue their goals, helping those participants to connect with the community and appropriate supports/therapists.

My company offers the highest standard of care for NDIS clients, for people who are often society's most vulnerable. We aim to provide a person-centred approach for both participants and support workers.

Do you need help implementing funded supports in your plan? Let me help link you to supports, therapists, community and anything you may require assistance in.

At iCare SA we use person-centred approach, this is where the person is placed at the centre of the service and treated as a person first. The focus is on the person and what they can do, not their condition or disability. Support should focus on achieving the person's aspirations and be tailored to their needs and unique circumstances.
