We warmly invite you to join us for our September meetup at The Gilbert Street Hotel. Brad Crouch will offer a candid look at the real world of news and investigative reporting, far removed from the dramatics of television and film.

He’ll unpack the tools and resources journalists rely on, outline the powers available to reporters, and the boundaries they must work within. He will then walk through several diverse investigations to show how each one demanded a different approach and mindset.

When: 15 Sep 2026 @ 6pm
Where: Upstairs, The Gilbert Street Hotel, 88 Gilbert St, Adelaide SA 5000
Book here: https://www.trybooking.com/DOXOP

Brad Crouch is a journalist with The Advertiser, Sunday Mail and advertiser.com.au covering the health round as well as investigations, political issues, travel, feature writing and more. He has worked in Sydney with the Daily Mirror and The Telegraph, been a New York correspondent, worked in the Canberra Press Gallery as chief political correspondent for the Sydney Sunday Telegraph and syndicated to other News Limited Sunday mastheads.

He has covered rounds ranging from police and education to being state political editor. He has contributed chapters to several books and won awards in areas ranging from investigations and feature writing to travel and food writing. Most recently, he won the 2026 Best News Report in the SA Media Awards (Print) for exclusively revealing that independent MP Nick McBride had been charged with attacking his former wife.
