It all started early September 2012, when a group of Engineers from the University of Adelaide, worked parallel with inspirations from a team of developer from London, to develop a self-sustaining Point of Sale System that was simple to use, efficient and yet affordable to even the smallest business in Adelaide. After a series of consistent designs, tests, upgrades and compilations, a basic POS system was designed. After over a year of intense work; several projects, protocols and models later our first stable POS system concept was created. An independent POS Software was created, the FrabPOS. A completely new breed of hybrid POS system was born in Adelaide. Believed to be Adelaide's first virtual POS Store, 6th November 2013, Fraberlen Technologies was officially launched. Designing, engineering and customizing POS systems to meet the needs of South Australian businesses was and will be what Fraberlen Technologies represents. Ensuring that every product coming out of our Laboratory has utmost quality assurance, we work consistently- upgrading, designing, and testing POS Systems to meet demands of SA business owners. We have created a wide range of state of the art POS systems from the simplest most affordable Tablet POS Systems to highly advanced heavy duty POS Systems. Recently, we started designing websites commercially. We also evaluate and estimate the dimensions of your store and correspondingly design completely independent security cameras to help you secure, observe and react to your business even at a distant from your smartphone. 15+ years in hospitality. A move from Queensland to Melbourne. And a brand-new chapter in Footscray. ❤️

Meet the team behind Deepak Indian Restaurant, Footscray.

They've spent more than 15 years running a venue in Queensland. When it came time to open their new Indian restaurant in Melbourne, they weren't new to hospitality — they already knew what worked, what didn't, and what they wanted behind the counter.

Interestingly, they found FrabPOS through Google reviews and an AI recommendation.

They came in for a demo, spent some time actually using the system, and chose a FrabPOS GenVT Silver POS with two kitchen printers, together with Order Eats online ordering and integrated table bookings.

Then our part started.

We built their menu and configured the system around the way an Indian restaurant actually takes orders:

The POS needs to understand the restaurant — not make the restaurant adapt to the POS.

That's what we enjoy about these builds.

What happens when the POS, website and online ordering are designed as ONE system?

A recent FrabPOS × Order Eats project for Hasty Fish and Kebabs in Hastings, VIC. 🌯🍟

For a busy takeaway, the goal isn't more technology.

It's less friction.

At the counter, FrabPOS handles a menu that isn't always simple - different HSP sizes, meats, sauces, dips, extras, salads and modifications.

Online, customers get the same business through a fast, mobile-friendly website and integrated Order Eats online ordering.

But because somewhere during a busy Friday night, a staff member will press fewer buttons, an order will be easier to understand, and a customer will get their dinner with a little less friction.

DAY 1: Starting VisitMate from 0. Literally. ❤️

A brand nobody knows yet.

Today we officially started putting VisitMate by FrabPOS into the world.

We created our page. Tried setting up our email through cPanel… it didn’t work the way we wanted. So we changed direction, went back to Google, got it sorted, and kept moving.

Then Instagram.

Another empty page. Another zero.

It’s funny — after years of building technology for businesses, starting something completely new reminds you that everyone starts somewhere.

Things won’t always work.
Plans will change.
There’ll be mistakes.

But you solve the problem in front of you and keep going.

We’re documenting VisitMate from the very beginning — not just the polished bits, but the problems, decisions, little wins and everything in between.

Maybe one day we’ll come back to this video and smile at that 0 followers.
