Proud to support Foodbank SA & Central Australia for the 4th year running! π
Last week, the ASC Training & Development team attended the annual Foodbank Luncheon. It was a fantastic event with an inspiring panel discussion featuring Natasha Stott Despoja AO, Brigid Koenig (CEO, Glenelg Football Club) and Emily Perry, GM Community at RAA. We really enjoyed hearing the perspectives shared around leadership, community, advocacy and empowering women to create meaningful change.
It was an honour to hear a special address from Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia and Patron of Foodbank SA & NT, alongside Katrine Hildyard, Minister for Child Protection, Minister for Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence and Minister for Women. A huge thank you to MC Lucy Hinton and Panel Facilitator Sonya Feldhoff for guiding such an insightful discussion.
The statistics shared were a sobering reminder of why this work matters:
β’ Over 282,000 households across SA & NT went hungry in the past year.
β’ More than one-third of households at some stage didnβt know where their next meal was coming from.
β’ Foodbank supports over 152,000 people every month, and heartbreakingly, more than one-third of these are children.
At ASC, we believe in the power of community. It is incredible to know that every $1 donated allows Foodbank to create two meals for those in need.
Thank you to everyone involved in such an engaging and thought-provoking event.
We are proud to stand alongside Foodbank as they continue their mission as Australiaβs largest food relief organisation. π
