Kodály SA

Kodály SA Music Education Professional Development Workshops also aim to improve participant's personal music skill and always end with singing together.

Our not-for-profit association aims to support music education in South Australia and promote the value of music in the lives of all children. Our members are classroom teachers, music specialists, instrumental and vocal teachers, university lecturers, tertiary students across all levels of education. Workshops
We run regular half-day workshops once each term full of practical activities to use im

mediately in your classroom. Courses & Conferences
We run in-depth courses which aim to provide a more in-depth level of understanding and skill illustrating ways of implementing a developmental music education often referred to as the Kodaly approach. Newsletters
An electronic newsletter packed with practical ideas for classroom teachers and music specialists from pre-school through to
secondary school is sent to our members once each term. Resources
Our committee make a great collections of resources for sale at all our professional learning events. KMEIA SA is managed by a committee of volunteers who have a passionate belief in the value of a music education for all children. We believe that a music education should involve children in learning to read, write, think and create music.

Huge thanks to everyone who braved the rain to join yesterday's "Songs & Games from the Philippines" workshop! 🌧️🎶

Led by Princess Galicia and Pauline Wong, we explored new songs and games, tried our hand at drama and shadow play, and even had a go at the Tinikling dance and playing the Kulintang. What an enriching morning of culture and music! 😊

🇵🇭 Songs & Games from the Philippines, presented by Princess Galicia and Pauline Wong, brought a taste of Filipino music and play to today's workshop. A highlight was the Kulintang, a row of gong-chimes from Mindanao played by ear for generations, with participants picking up the rhythm by listening, just like the tradition has always been passed down. ✨

Special thanks to Ms Clai Pasion for sharing her set of Kulintang with us.
