Kodály SA Music Education Professional Development Workshops also aim to improve participant's personal music skill and always end with singing together.

Our not-for-profit association aims to support music education in South Australia and promote the value of music in the lives of all children. Our members are classroom teachers, music specialists, instrumental and vocal teachers, university lecturers, tertiary students across all levels of education. Workshops
We run regular half-day workshops once each term full of practical activities to use immediately in your classroom. Courses & Conferences
We run in-depth courses which aim to provide a more in-depth level of understanding and skill illustrating ways of implementing a developmental music education often referred to as the Kodaly approach. Newsletters
An electronic newsletter packed with practical ideas for classroom teachers and music specialists from pre-school through to
secondary school is sent to our members once each term. Resources
Our committee make a great collections of resources for sale at all our professional learning events. KMEIA SA is managed by a committee of volunteers who have a passionate belief in the value of a music education for all children. We believe that a music education should involve children in learning to read, write, think and create music.

🎶 A CONNECTED MUSICAL JOURNEY | ALINA BELSHAW 🎶

From the early years through to Year 6, Alina Belshaw is passionate about creating a musical journey where every part of a student’s learning connects. We’re excited to welcome her to the 2026 Kodály Australia Conference! 🎵

Alina is Head of Preparatory School Music at Shore School in Sydney, leading classroom, choral and instrumental programs from ELC to Year 6. Her teaching is grounded in Kodály and Orff pedagogy, with a focus on building meaningful connections across all areas of the music program.

Alongside her school-based work, Alina is a conductor with the Sydney Youth Orchestras Strings Program and has taught primary music education at Australian Catholic University. She has completed extensive training across both Kodály and Orff Schulwerk, bringing a wealth of practical experience to her work with young musicians.

🌟 MUSIC FOR THE WHOLE CHILD | ALEXANDRA DALMAN🎶

Passionate about the role music can play in developing the whole child, Alexandra Dalman joins us as a presenter at the 2026 Kodály Australia Conference!

Alexandra is a Kodály-inspired and Orff Schulwerk music educator and choral conductor, bringing together a strong background in both music performance and education. 🎵

She completed a Bachelor of Music (Performance) and postgraduate studies at the Opera School at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, before completing a Master of Music at the Australian National University. Alexandra also achieved her Australian Kodály Certificate – Primary in 2022.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Alexandra to Adelaide, SA, for the 2026 Kodály Australia Conference, from 28 September to 1 October 2026 at Pulteney Grammar School.

With more than 35 years as a music specialist, Tess Laird brings a remarkable depth of experience to the 2026 Kodály Australia Conference!

Tess holds a Master of Music Studies from the University of Queensland and is an accredited lecturer for the Australian Kodály Certificate. She is also an Honorary Life Member of Kodály Australia, recognising her longstanding contribution to the Kodály community. 🎵

Throughout her career, Tess has been committed to providing quality music education in state schools, conducting community choirs and ensembles, and delivering professional development across Australia. She has also presented internationally at Kodály Symposia in Scotland, Canada and Malaysia.

Today, Tess continues to share her experience by providing practical support to current and future music specialists.

Blending music education, research and ensemble direction, we’re excited to welcome Veronica Marrie to the 2026 Kodály Australia Conference!

Veronica is the Music and Performance Coordinator at St Paul’s College, where she teaches middle school and SACE Music. She has completed Kodály Secondary Level 3 and holds a Master of Education, with research exploring how Kodály-inspired pedagogy can align with primary band programs. 🎵

With international experience and a passion for ensemble music-making, Veronica is also an active conductor across bands, orchestral ensembles and musical theatre.

Practical ideas, inclusive learning and plenty of musical creativity! We’re excited to welcome Stefania Miller to the 2026 Kodály Australia Conference. 🎶

Stefania is a Classroom Music Specialist and Choral Conductor at St Cecilia’s Primary School, with more than 13 years of experience in primary music education. Holding an Australian Kodály Certificate, she is passionate about creating engaging musical experiences where every student can participate and thrive.

As a Kodály Victoria committee member, Stefania also presents workshops and professional learning, sharing practical, classroom-ready ideas that help make music learning accessible and fun.
