A find that travelled more than 80 years through history.

In 2024, Coiltek Ambassador & Minelab Detexpert Artur / Metal Detecting Buddy uncovered a World War II dog tag belonging to an Italian soldier while detecting in England with the 18” MYTHTEK.

What followed was far more than simply identifying a historical find.

After months of research, official registration and help from people across Europe, Artur travelled to Italy in 2026 to personally return the dog tag to the soldier’s family — bringing closure to a story that had remained hidden for more than 80 years.

From a signal in the ground to an emotional reunion in a small Italian village, this is a powerful reminder of what makes detecting so special.

It’s not always about what you find. Sometimes, it’s about the story you help bring back to life.

Sometimes the best finds come from places you've already searched. ⛏️

A huge congratulations to on another fantastic gold recovery with the Coiltek 9" GOLDHAWK!

After recent heavy rain reshaped the creek bed, revisiting an old patch uncovered fresh ground that had previously been out of reach - and it paid off with another beautiful piece of gold.

It's a great reminder that conditions change, and persistence can often be rewarded. Never be afraid to give an old patch another swing!
