Jumping through seaweed.

Sometimes in the winter this washed up seaweed can create HUGE piles so big that some of them would be easily a metre tall. And as much as I hate seaweed in the summer, in the winter we love it! It makes for a fun time exploring, climbing or playing hide and seek.

And just for sh*ts and giggles, did you know that dried seaweed makes amazing garden fertiliser yet it’s actually illegal for us to take the washed up seaweed off the beach.

El Estanco 🌵 Greenock

Have you been? If not, next time you’re in the Barossa it’s worth a visit for some lunch with a glass of rosé or even just a coffee and the best raspberry tart you will ever have (omg it was like it had raspberry infused into the custard)!

Make sure you save this one to you saved folder!

Oh Raynie Days, I had so much fun playing with you in the sand dunes last night. You are so so beautiful my baby girl.

Arches starting to shape up!

Somehow I manage to book in my maternity leave as my major projects go into construction. So annoying 🙄 because you do so much learning on site and despite the contract admin phase being pretty intense, it’s such an interesting phase! It’s pretty special getting to see it all come together and having to do some quick thinking problem solving when things come up on site that need your input.

Here are a few shots that my friend Danny sent through of a project we have been pouring our soul into together for a while now so it’s exciting to see it starting to shape up! _

My little budding entrepreneur!

She saw a big bowl of lemons which our neighbours had given to us and she remembered that one time she sold lemonade at our garage sale from over a year ago.

So she saw this as a good business opportunity and set out to make some money!

After squeezing two lemons she quickly realised that she was much better off hiring cheap labour (me) to do it for her. When she noticed that she didn’t have the equipment she needed to contain the lemonade, we had to head to the warehouse (nanas house) to pick up a jug.

When we got home she put her PR consultant (me again) to work to get the message out to the street about her epic lemonade event. Then together with her in-house graphic designer (again,me) she set out to create some catchy signage. All credit goes to her for the slogan “Lemonade Adelaide”.

It was show time! But before she could sell her lemonade she got the hired muscle (also me) to create her a stall, bossing them around, telling them where everything needed to go. Budding project manager perhaps?

Soon it was all systems go and the people flocked from near and far to get a taste of Rayne’s lemonade! She knew right away that she needed staff, so recruited her friend Penny to help with the transactions. Unfortunately though Penny was caught red handed stealing from the till so was banished from behind the table. Rayne decided not to press charges so all is right in the world once again.

As we all enjoyed lemonade (and wine for me) out the front, it was a lovely end to a very busy week. Made even better with Jarrod bringing home chicken and chips for dinner and his mum dropping off some soup and her famous rocky road!

Yesterday I popped into this cute little homewares store called CuCu on Jetty Road in Largs Bay. I’ve been wanting to have a look for ages and finally got a child free moment to check it out. Wez the owner has curated a lot of gorgeous homewares including some beautiful throws, artworks, baskets, locally made Candles and diffusers.
He also sells lovely cushions he makes himself and his partner makes knitted products with some of the proceeds going to the Hut street centre.

It’s a wonderful shop to get lost in and spend lots of money so make sure you stop by for a visit next time you’re in the area.

Despite me being on maternity leave and Jarrod not being in full time employment at the moment (busy with his MC work and his sold out Communications workshop) we still lead very busy lives and find ourselves like two ships in the night... so I was super excited when Jarrod suggested we head up to the Barossa this afternoon. Of course we stopped in at First Drop because their food and wine is amazing and we ALWAYS leave banging on about how much we love it there. It’s hard not to be creatures of habit when it’s just THAT good. They’re doing an amazing Moroccan curry at the moment which is perfect for a cold day.

We love the Barossa, so we said that from today on we would make more of an effort to get up there and explore somewhere new each time. This time we checked out David Franz which we had never even heard of till today after I read a Glam Adelaide article. Wow. What a gorgeous little place. This one shoots straight up into my top 10 (maybe even 5) wineries in SA! Not only was it a beautiful little bluestone cellar door with stunning views but they had some cracking reds!

Oh I get so excited over wine! Yay! 🍷

Do you ever get to a point where there is so much going on around you in a moment that you just crumble and become completely useless. Like your brain goes mush and you can’t think straight no matter how simple the task.

That happened to me today. Baby crying, lost wallet, no petrol, late for lunch and I just crumpled. All I needed to do was remember what it was I was wearing last night (I put my wallet in my jacket pocket). But I just couldn’t get to that point because I was so overwhelmed and threw myself into a panic with the thought that I could have dropped my wallet last night getting pizza. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Here’s another example... if you’re on the phone and someone in front of you starts talking to you... can you stop one conversation and jump to the other or are you like me, get overwhelmed and stop listening to both conversations?

Oh to be able to multitask!! Anyway this is one of the beautiful sunsets we had from our little getaway to encounter bay. I’ll just stare at this till I fall asleep! ❤️

When chips are life.

🍟

Jarrod is dropping the first episode of his Season 2 of DADelaide any minute now! It’s with Dan from the Hilltop Hoods (seriously him and his family are 🤌🏼). Make sure you head over to to keep an eye out for the video.

We filmed the second episode today with MC, one of the founders of Pirate Life and if you’ve never been to Pirate Life Brewing before than are you even cool?? I’m not a beer person myself, but I go for the vibe and the amazing space by Studio Gram, oh and for the epic food truck food.

Hands off my chips!

Well! It has definitely been MY loss. Because the food here was delicious!! Just go and look up their menu.... delicious!!!

I can’t wait to go back and try all the things on the menu.

Blessed By Nature products have just gone through a lovely rebrand and to celebrate they gifted me their Hydration collection to test out (I looooove skin care products so thank you).

I’ve been using them the last couple of weeks and I’m really happy with how my skin is feeling. I have quite dry skin naturally so I’m loving the moisturiser especially because it’s quite thick but doesn’t dry on my skin with a shiny oily layer like some of the products I use do. There is a gentle foam cleanser, then I follow with the face mist before putting on the moisturiser. The products have a really nice smell but what I like is that it’s subtle and gentle.

Blessed by Nature is an “all natural and organically derived, small batch skin care brand” and the hydration collection is “full of antioxidants and combine powerhouse natural ingredients” such as Kakadu plum, rose water and green tea extract.

These products are super affordable (which is important to me because I struggle to justify spending lots of money on my skincare) and are available through stores.

_

I loved trying and shooting these products. I used to do this a fair bit and stopped when life got too busy. I think I might start doing a bit more styling and photography while I’m on maternity leave. What do you think?
