I'm still here. Still inspired. Still passionate. Just sorting the housing (or lack of) situation. This Jane Goodall was one of the very earliest of my litter portraits from years ago. She really lit a fire in my heart that has led me on the most treasure-filled journey. That has led to an explosion of love in me for all things living, to an expanding of my circles including new friends online and off, to a curiosity in animal & plant behaviour right through to the behaviour of materials! This fire lit by such legends has been part of my journey toward patience, observance, presence and connectedness. There's so many inspiring, motivating quotes to choose from, some that I particularly love right now... so pictured are a few. Share your fave with me please so we can celebrate this lady & give each other hope ๐Ÿ’•

I'm still collecting LITTERED zipties. LOTS of LITTERED zipties! I'm still loving some absolutely threatened local marine life (hello South Australian Harmful Algal Bloom - FYI... an event increasing globally!), still working on a *sold LITTER sculpture, still teaching about plastic pollution in schools, still connecting to the living world around me.

Prioritising housing only over social media & social full stop. Everything else remains the same on my priority list a.k.a parenting now whilst future-proofing for the generations of life ahead. It's not ideal but I'm nearly "there" (however sh*te Plan D that will look haha). Funny how I always said I didn't care if litterpicking rendered me homeless. Eh. Much love to the friends I cherish here in this space. I miss you. I'm good & I hope you are too.

Jane Goodall will continue to inspire and motivate so many. From the deepest part of my parenting & life-loving heart Jane, thank you! Rest in peace ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆงโค๏ธ

[Picture ID: Image of Jane Goodall made with 5000+ LITTERED zipties laid on a queen size sheet with a tennis ball for scale. Captured in a photo now overlaid with a filter of green foliage. Subsequent slides show three quotes I'll share in comments section and an invitation to share your favourite with me]

Everything in my life remains focused to the cause. What's the cause? A bright, fruitful, safe, connected future for ALL life! Much love to the world in these grey times. And yes of course I'm playing with littered wire even though I live on wheels. BC yes I've still been litterpicking like it's everything! Right down to the tiniest fibre. And yes of course I'm finally immersed in this awesome litter research read . And yes I see you Social Norm CHAMPIONS! Taking action ๐Ÿฆธ is a mental well-being choice xx

All for my breath, parenting & . Probably in the order. Actually, definately in that order. But you can put Mona Litta Art first in my list there if you like ๐Ÿ˜‰

Introducing the Thorny Devil, a cute little reptile found in many parts of the west & red centre. That's a fake head on his neck to truck predators and he only needs to stand in a puddle or brush past a wet leaf to have water travel to his mouth. A couple of free fun facts there for ya!

He certainly enticed the curiosity of many travelling kids I've met though out travels in the Northern Territory who happily engaged in some impromptu lessons to discover some fun facts about this fella, his habitat, our care and concern for it, citizen science, the power of art, sustainable print making and the science of the art materials and processes behind it.

As it took me a while to settle in to this existence and get back to what I do best and sharing about it...please do head over to my business site and give it some love (likes and shares etc). Today's post highlights some cool lessons held in my travels. And there's more to share there. And more to come!.

Had no idea I'd love inland Australia so much though I maintain all roads lead to our one shared precious ocean!
Bless what you do, we do, I do โ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒฑโ™ฅ๏ธ

Well Hi there. Great to be here with you. Ok then...so I have been busy putting the plan in place & then...WOW...busy settling in to the crux of the plan and...WOW...living the plan is way busier than expected!

Late July I bought a little home on wheels & continued to sell, repurpose, rehome, recycle and store my belongings. My stuff. And THAT, my caring people, set me nearly 2 months past my leave date. STUFF! I've come to the conclusion that possessions are both privilege as well as big BIG burden. Weight distribution in my wee set up was also tricky & I got so overwhelmed my head ended up so done in that I asked the deli lady for 150kg of ham! (not for me, we're still vego ๐Ÿ˜‰). So it was a pretty crazy exhausting 5 months of prep time. Even the dog was exhausted!

Anyway, this little kitchen & the bed either side of it is ours. All ours. We own it. No rent paid. For the first time in 15 years, I'm free of paying someone else's mortgage. And for the last 2 months we've free camped in it legally or paid less-than-rent to be in a park...whilst catching our breath having a necessary break from the hamster wheel that I am not made for. I mean neuro divergence I guess sometimes means you need spells living divergently. So I am. My environmentalism could not go...the "typical" had to. The road is beautifully winding but it's hard work (constant fixing of things!)...however I'm breathing again.

I've nurtured my connection to all that sustains me by living in nature, caring for nature, observing nature, and being nature.
And I've so much to share but I'm settled now so I'll post more on some whereabouts, how abouts and what abouts. Haha. I guess as a starter - the FFS picture there that was a recreation of the image I took near 7 years ago that I ended up putting on a t-shirt for sale. Same remote place, fresh bloody ziptie finds. Such a big journey these last 8 years that, though it's left me broke, I'll not regret. I've found a treasured village off and online through it and through that have grown both my concern and my hope as well as opportunity.

Hope you're well & good & connected. If not, do what you need! And yes I've been picking up lots of zipties ###

Hello fellow carers of that which sustains us! ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ!
I have been out of action whilst conjuring & then implementing a plan to avoid the rental crisis whilst building a beautiful earth-loving education business! Just in case you were wondering...I've still been 100% all about the mission you've been here for!

I HOPE YOU'RE ALL STILL HERE WITH ME!
There's been NO time to grow & love the socials for my artist work here nor for Mona Litta Art. The last 12 weeks has been nightmare-crazy! But for the best of goals! The family, the dog & the business are all going to benefit!

I'VE BEEN SO SO SO BUSY!
Since early on in the process I've been downsizing & decluttering decades of stuff, sustainably, all the stuff that once filled a large home into...a storage unit & newly purchased caravan! And all to VERY SOON soon embark on a trip about the place, taking Mona Litta Art to the regions whilst building some financial security (by avoiding the two big expenses - rent & power!). I'm nearly there ...just a little more for the off-grid set up as well as a few of the listed-in-the-link bits & pieces.

AND I COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED!!!
This year I have had bookings for my business with a council (where I taught youth to sustainably print artwork of the Chestnut Rumped Heath Wren locals are trying to bring back to the area & how to be citizen scientists to help that cause, taught 46 x 3-11yo how to sustainably print artwork of a Port Jackson Shark & how to also be citizen scientists working toward their protection. And just this fortnight gone, taught 200 students to draw & use litter to create Port Jackson Shark artwork for the same goal! I'm now taking re-bookings from these places as well as securing a new council booking with contacts being shared & then made for regional SA & beyond.

SO DO PLEASE STICK AROUND!
When we're on the road & off this hamster wheel...there will DEFINITELY be increased social media presence on all things educating for the Enviro win!...as well as the content you were all here for...all things plastic pollution and art!

AND SO DO DO PLEASE consider sharing this Go Fund Me page to help me cross the line! It's easy to find if the link isn't good - just look for the name there or the title (both accurately depicting) and the Leafy Sea Dragon painted sustainably ...with waste! You will be helping me parent whilst growing that which I do - loving the earth for our kids!

Much love & hope you're well & warm,

Ange aka Ziptie Zoe aka Mona Litta Art

Picking through a sample of debris from an Adelaide tideline to help assess microplastics in the marine environment because I want to help but also as catharsis bc I don't understand how it's 2024 and still an Australian becoming a Queen gets more coverage than our home and our humanity being systematically and intentionally raked over the coals.
Create our future.
Stand up.
Act in Love.
Find your Power.
Keep acting in Love in your Power. Don't shy or turn away.

Title: Broken or Forming? I have to have hope. A hope for a future that can be. All eyes and hearts truly open, all young to grow to old, all old to live for all young, all to share and prosper in safety, all to have their value witnessed and manifest, all hands on deck.
There is a hope in the pen on paper that has drafted a Sustainability that is environmentally, socially and economically just. But beyond pen and paper, hands and hearts will be required, with nothing left to chance. Because in the silence there is approval for the unsustainable - environmentally, socially and economically. And the world is not a vacuum. Silence is a vacancy that is always filled. Is being filled right now as it has always been. Silence can speak louder than law. Silence creates just as noise creates.
If this hope ain't to be, I wish for the nastier aliens to get on down and progress our Sustainability. Literally. Just like siblings might unite in response to a common enemy - a parent's decision - humanity it seems may require a collective, decisive otherworldly threat to really see each other, to hold each other, and be in a moment..a long moment..an expansive moment..together. Aliens. That's the fork in the road where we're at. Nicer aliens could have a crack first maybe. HOPEfully neither are needed. What an alarming wish. But these are existential times.
This artwork is me processing mid-October through December 2023 as I continue in a Govt-business program seeking to work with Gov't and non-Gov't institutions. It is me sharing my processing. My goal moving in to 2024, past the "festivities", remains - to help elevate the knowledge and tools allowing young ones to process, heal, communicate, participate, contribute, dream and thrive as they move through their very long, very fulfilling, very peace-filled, extremely resourceful, habitat-supported lives. All of them.

[Image ID: a love heart made from LITTERED zipties that appears to be cracked, or broken, at the top but possibly is just forming or coming together. The sculpture fills the photograph almost entirely with a white sheet behind and some white wall behind that yo be seen. It attaches to a visible piece of LITTERED wood and balances using LITTERED metal construction pegs. It is fixed together using LITTERED metal bits. The armature made from same. All litter, disgusting I know!]

Not bad for my first mural I say! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’ƒ
PAINTED SUSTAINABLY TOO! And did you know Leafy Sea Dragons are Sth Australia's state emblem AND David Attenborough's fave? I did not.
And did you know not all paints are created equal? I do! And so do (IG) ... they've got the goods! Sustainability -
Btw.. product choice isn't the only sustainability consideration.
So hey if anyone knows a needy wall (or better...a needy wall in a school with students needing to come for the ride - I am a teacher & operate in alignment to the curriculum! - AND sustainability is their preferred path... SAY HI here ๐Ÿ‘‡ & then pop over to ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸฅŠ& say hi to her too (psst... she is me but I need you there!).
Thanks to for helping me grow my marine terrain knowledge & helping to start the brickwork terrain! As a Coastal Ambassador, I can't wait to champion more ocean-dwelling beauties & beasties & oxygen-hero plant life on walls EVERYyYyYy-WHERE (I sang that!) ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽจ ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž
