Kim Brebach - Longhop Old Vine Shiraz 2022 – Made from old vines by Tim Freeland and Dom Torzi on the Adelaide Plains. It’s what we used to call an honest red. No frills, just a big mouthful of flavour. Ripe red fruits with a touch of oak and a grind of pepper, hints of tar and warm earth, leather and licorice, all know their place and show good restraint making this a seamless red. 94+ points. Good drinking already with more in the tank.”

This is sweetly fruited and fragrant on the nose with dark fruit richness, game, toasted spice, and cedar characters. The palate is equally appealing with excellent weight and succulent fruit intensity, wonderfully supported by finely integrated tannins. At its best: now to 2030.

From 1950’s plantings. Matured in French and American oak.
Black fruit, dried mint, some coconut oak and spice. It’s a juicy and ripe wine, dried raspberry and black fruit, a bit nutty with a something of a dried beef flavour, light grainy grip to tannin, a glycerol richness, finishes with good length, a bit of warmth and minty black and red fruit. No shortage of flavour and a pretty good wine all up.
