Podcast City and Adelaide Networking Connections are proud to announce the appointment of Frank Pangallo as our Resident Collaborating Partner and Media Advisor.
This is an exciting new chapter for both organisations and, importantly, an opportunity for business owners, professionals, executives, community leaders and organisations to access the knowledge and experience of one of South Australia’s most experienced media professionals.
Frank brings more than 50 years of experience across journalism, broadcasting, television, investigative reporting, media leadership, political communications, public policy and public life.
His remarkable media career began at The News, where he progressed from copyboy and cadet journalist through reporting, political and investigative journalism, Chief of Staff and ultimately Editor-in-Chief.
Frank went on to hold senior roles across television, radio and publishing, including Chief of Staff at SAS-10/SAS-7 Television News, Features Producer at Ten Eyewitness News, South Australian Bureau Chief for TV Week and New Idea, and Executive Producer of the highly successful Jeremy Cordeaux talk program on 5DN.
Perhaps best known to many South Australians for his television current-affairs career, Frank spent 23 years with the Seven Network’s Today Tonight as an Executive Producer, Supervising Producer and Senior Investigative Journalist, covering crime, justice, consumer affairs, government accountability, business, health, community safety and major public-interest stories.
His broadcasting career also took him onto the international sporting stage. Frank covered and commentated across four FIFA World Cups, Olympic and Commonwealth Games, National Soccer League and A-League football, and Formula One Grand Prix racing, receiving two major national awards for his Formula One reporting and broadcasting.
His professional recognition includes the South Australian Press Club Gold Award for Journalist of the Year in 2012, the Archbishop of Adelaide Media Citation, multiple SA Press Club awards, national broadcasting awards and an Order of St John Commendation.
Frank later moved into political communications, working as a senior media adviser to Nick Xenophon, Rex Patrick and SA-BEST, providing strategic media planning, speechwriting, media relations, political communications, public messaging and stakeholder engagement.
In 2018, Frank entered Parliament himself, serving as a Member of the South Australian Legislative Council until 2026.
That experience gave Frank a perspective few media trainers can offer.
For decades, he was the journalist asking the difficult questions.
Then he became the person having to answer them.
During his parliamentary career, Frank worked across government accountability, health and emergency services, aged care, veterans’ affairs, consumer rights, crime and community safety, public integrity and social justice. One of his defining achievements was helping advance world-first legislation designed to improve community access to Automated External Defibrillators — AEDs.
Now Frank is bringing that experience to Podcast City and Adelaide Networking Connections.
Through this new collaboration, people will have the opportunity to work directly with Frank through one-on-one coaching, private mentoring, media consultancy, seminars and workshops, the six-week Media Ready Masterclass, corporate media training and keynote speaking.
Frank will be able to help clients with media interview preparation, television and radio appearances, podcast interviews, camera confidence, public speaking, difficult questions, crisis communications, media relations, publicity strategy, media releases, personal positioning, stakeholder communication and becoming a more confident and credible spokesperson.
He will also work with businesses and organisations on strategic communications, media preparedness, spokesperson development and the practical realities of dealing with journalists and the modern media environment.
