Produced under licence in Australia by the Angove family for over 50 years, the time honoured recipe of Stone's Green Ginger Wine remains largely unchanged since it was first produced in 1740, making Stone's one of the world's oldest surviving alcoholic beverage brands. Today the range consists of Ginger Wines and "Sparkling" Ginger Beers. Our Ginger Beer range was created in accordance with our mission to remain and to further cement our position as Australia’s number one ginger beverage brand. Stone’s Original Ginger Beer is our newest ginger beer and we believe it is what every Stone’s product should be – the absolute epitome of ginger beverage with which to tantalise and tingle your taste buds. Stone's Premium Alcoholic Ginger Beer was launched into the market place in September 2001. The goal was to create something that was true to the name 'Ginger Beer'; a product which was brewed and encapsulated the refreshing taste of ginger. The legend of Ginger Joe is inspired by ‘Ginger’ Joseph Stone, moustachioed London greengrocer and illustrious founder of the noble House of Stone. Legend recalls Joe was fanatical about the tantalising taste of the ginger root (lat. Zingiber Officinale) and that his first ‘dip in the ginge’ circa 1740 produced a tipple that literally singed the tips of his ‘tache – an image now immortalised on every bottle of this stirringly vigorous alcoholic ginger brew. Stone's Green Ginger Wine is a perennial favourite when the winter chill starts to bite. It is especially popular amongst fishers, campers and golfers and is a fantastic ingredient in many dishes that require a "hit of ginger". As a mixer it comes into its own in a fantastic array of cocktails. Stone's Mac is made by enhancing Stone's Original Green Ginger Wine with the flavour of Scotch Whisky making it extra warming. Stone's Special Reserve has extra ginger and secret herbs and spices, adding another dimension to Stone's and really making it one for the diehard Stone's fan.
