Spring will be here before we know it, so if you’ve been looking at your garden thinking I really need to do something with this… now is the perfect time to work out what that something actually is!

I’ve got some great garden design courses coming up at TAFE SA and WEA, whether you want to tackle your whole garden or just give one area a bit of love.

🌱 TAFE SA – Home Garden Design for Beginners
📅 Tuesday 18 August, 25 August & 8 September
A three-week course where we work through the garden design process from site assessment and planning through to putting your ideas together into a design that actually works for your space.

🌿 WEA – Garden Design Basics
📅 Saturday 22 August
A great introduction to the fundamentals of designing a garden, including layout, design principles, plants and how to start making sense of all those ideas in your head!

🐝 WEA – Wildlife Friendly Gardens
📅 Saturday 5 September
Learn how to create a garden that looks great and provides food, shelter and habitat for birds, bees, butterflies, lizards and other garden visitors.

And there are more new courses coming in October and November, including Front Yard Glow-Up and Small Space Garden Design.

One of the things I love most about what I do isn't the finished plans, the plant lists or even seeing a garden come to life.

It's hearing from clients months or years later when they tell me they're still falling in love with their gardens. 🌿

This is one of my favourites:

"Hello lovely lady. I've just arrived home from the gym. I drove into my drive and I fell in love with my garden for the millionth time since you helped me plan it. I'm very grateful for my garden."

And honestly, that is everything.

Because a well-designed garden isn't just about how it looks on the day it's finished. It's about creating a place that welcomes you home, lifts your spirits after a long day, and becomes part of the rhythm of your life.

To have played a small part in creating that for someone is such a privilege. 💚

Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for trusting me with your gardens, your dreams and the spaces where life unfolds. It never stops being special.

I think one of the loveliest things about gardening is that it asks us to believe in a future we may never fully see.

We plant trees knowing they'll cast their best shade long after we've stopped sitting beneath them. We tuck tiny seedlings into the soil, trusting they'll become food for families, shelter for wildlife and places where memories are made. We create habitats, restore patches of earth and leave things a little better than we found them.

As Andy Warhol said, "The idea is not to live forever, but to create something that will."

Maybe that's why gardening feels so hopeful. 🌿

What are you planting today that might outlast you? A tree? A tradition? A love of nature in your children? I'd love to hear. 💚
