The Adelaide Aquatic Centre is now open, and it’s more than just a pool.

Behind the scenes, this project challenged the way we deliver aquatic infrastructure. With construction moving while design continued to evolve, it required constant collaboration, clear communication and trust across the entire project team.

A key part of that success was the project teams leadership, whose ability to connect architecture, engineering and construction kept everything moving forward with confidence.

From advanced water filtration systems to fully integrated pool shell design, every detail was considered to deliver long-term performance, efficiency and user experience.

Now complete, the Centre stands as a sustainable, future-focused facility for South Australia, built to be used, enjoyed and relied on for generations.

Our team enjoyed sharing more about graduate opportunities at MLEI and the variety of experience that comes from working in a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy.

Yesterday we brought our incredible women together from across Australia, some in the room, others on the big screen, to mark International Women’s Day and reflect on this year’s theme: Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.

It was a genuine conversation.

About what equality really means in our industry.
About the systems and structures that shape who enters, who progresses and who feels heard.
About ensuring opportunity, pay and safety are equitable, not aspirational.

“For All” was an important part of the discussion. Progress must include women across cultures, backgrounds, ages, abilities and career stages.

There was reflection, insight and a lot of shared experience in the room. The women across our teams bring deep technical expertise, leadership, resilience and innovation to complex projects and the business every day, and that collective strength was very evident today.

International Women’s Day isn’t just a date in the calendar. It’s a reminder that Rights, Justice and Action require ongoing, shared effort, from all of us.
