Introducing Jerana's NEW WEBSITE! www.jerana.com.au

This has been months in the making! Like most things meticulous and grinding in detail, the launch has uncovered one mistake… soon as the print button is hit – there it is, that glaringly obvious mistake staring through the screen, haha.

Our goal has been to refine our communication, to better articulate ‘what we do’. Tell us, did we hit the mark?!

Come check us out!!

This was a first for us! Granted, the heat this summer season has not been mucking around. There has been some hot ones, and the gang on site were a little worse for wear here. In the heat of the moment this happened. Communications and electrical - together - like shoes and socks - that's all we gotta say about our most memorable defect for 2020. It was suggested the guys go grab a drink and find some shade, take a 15 min break.

Seasons greetings!

Introduced into Australia in the 1970’s, PVC pipes have a long service life of over 100 years. Meaning plastic pipes represent a small portion of waste going to landfill.

There are a bunch of reasons contractors put inferior conduit in the ground. From being time pressured to poor site planning, outright laziness, or care factor. Some people do pitch to us 'the urge' to use up bit’s n' pieces on site – a questionable reason that does not make conduit like the one here become magical in its compliance, true, but at times it does come from the right intent.

Organisations and sites can introduce a bin for conduit and help turn plastic waste into reusable plastic resins and sheets.

For ideas on waste management here are Brisbane’s plastics recycling depots specialising in waste for the mining and construction industries.

Being a 'safe pair of hands' sounds simple enough. But to suggest changes or improvements in another business parameter a consultant must be patient, strike rapport, understand position and business need. Great consultants bask in the know-how of the customer’s business!

The consultant role is challenging. Each interaction is disparate.

Good consultants are engaged and willing to learn, do the thorough research, fact-find and gather knowledge. Having an inquisitive nature, asking - is a critical aspect, and a good consultant must be able to establish the tempo of the project. Each at the same time, one must be assertive and affirmative so that the project moves fast.

Consulting is so much more than giving advice, and so here's to one of our four values: Knowledge!

Some mentions from our partners and stakeholders.

◉ "...being ex-contractors, Jerana know how things should be done but understand at the same time ‘that won’t work here’; the knowledge base of regulations is strong." ◉ "...I don’t see a reason to use others; the knowledge here, practical adaptation and experience is long running."

Electrical construction on Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway is at its peak. Recent focus has been on road lighting and traffic signals, and the is gearing up for 2021.

It comes as no surprise to us that the scale of the diverging diamond interchange and 6-lane upgrade; subject to approx. 90 traffic switches and spanning some 13 km, has produced great .

Tackling over 90 km of conduit is no mean feat. But this clever approach has generated some serious worth! Think about it. Savings in minutes has become hours and the inconsistent has morphed into standards.

The box design accommodates up to four conduits. Heights and separation are set by holes in the rear wall. Conduits are joined then fed through the box, and as it tracks along the trench the box is filled with sand. Sand is compacted as the water cart coasts along flooding with water.

Such a proactive approach that has had outstanding results. Bang on for those endless long runs! Bravo and Fulton Hogan for leading !

Recent content from Colin D Ellis got us thinking about our culture. Has our business done enough?

Statements pinned on a cubicle wall… we have all experienced that, blah.

Organisations that are undoubtedly value-driven spring them to life in all aspects! Hiring isn’t about finding a pulse and often has a simplistic approach. It involves watching from distance and inviting in others that have similar beliefs. For such organisations decisions around customer interactions, safeguarding next generations, projects to undertake or reject, and group consensus are used to enhance belonging and success.

So, today we are turning the spotlight on one of our four values: Quality!

Here are some mentions from our partners and stakeholders.

◉ “…Jerana doesn’t ‘bend over’ for anyone, that’s what I need to do our job.” ◉ “…it’s the little things; most people wouldn’t bother, but Jerana explains the longer-term ramifications and gives context to the bigger picture.”

The Everton Park Link Road project is more than our most recent project awarded, it also marks our relationship working together with Ranbury Management Group.

This $31 million link road is part of a two stage plan to free up the congested intersection at Stafford and South Pine Road. In addition to gaining more traffic light 'green time', dedicated cyclist paths will link to the Kedron Brook bikeway and pedestrian access is being improved around the local shopping precincts.

Due for completion around mid 2021, it's refreshing to work on a brownfield site that so far has been smooth sailing.
